Alucards mind was fine, he just couldn't determine where/who he is with all the extra souls. That's how he was able to come back, just destroy his souls until he can determine where/who he is.

And it is to send him on his usual walks intentionally, when his walks tend to naturally default to a pretty substantial body count. Honestly, it seemed to tone itself down from the first few episodes a great deal and I loved it even more. That episode with the valentine brothers was funny, but dear god was it also foul. Also, listening to the queen talk was fricking hilarious, but yeah, that style of humor went way down a few notches.

That's the genius of TFS. They redefined what it means to make an "abridged series". Still a parody fandub, but they remain mostly faithful to the original story while still hitting it out of the park with the humor.
