I loved this movie and its sequel as a child and my love has only grown for it since. So here's a music video starring our favorite mischievous creatures! And my online friend Eliskuya had a birthday so I'm dedicating this video to him!
Without a doubt one of the most iconic themes heard in any 80's horror comedy considering that it sounds so crazy and energetic. Add to the fact that it was in Gremlins makes this theme music even more iconic and unforgettable.
@@user-yf6zz3cl8iwell, yes they did, but I was thinking of a musical number like you would see in some smarmy Broadway musical. Like singin' in the rain or cats!
I know right!? They may be mischievous little monsters who enjoy having fun but despite that they're still dangerous and a force to be reckoned with considering that they're not above attacking or even killing any human who gets in their way.
Well most of them were only violent because they were just causing trouble without caring about the consequences. One could argue that Stripe was the only real bad guy amongst them as he truly wanted to kill Billy.
Naw, it's just that they all were troublemaking psychopaths. They just liked messing and toying with people and all kinds of stuff, but it oftenly resulted in their deaths anyways.
One of the best mixes of comedy and horror films. And of course, music by the one and only Jerry Goldsmith; surely one of the best composers of the 20th century, in a top 5.
Never thought about it before, but how badass is Stripe? I mean, he can be in the middle of giving birth, and still have enough wits about him to fire his gun!
@@noseferatu5747 Joe Dante and Belinda Balaski were the special guests for the Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival. It was awesome. They even signed my poster!
This film creeped the shit out of me when I was a little kid, but now it’s a great watch at Christmas and I’m so nostalgic of the creepy yet cozy 80s Christmas vibes, and the soundtrack is great!
In the original script billy’s mom head Rolls down the stares of the house when billy comes back home, the dog is gutted, and a group of gremlins eat a family at a McDonald’s. Hopefully you like this information and have a nice day 😃
@kianpm3782 The McDonalds scene was dropped 50/50 on grounds of spoiling the tone of the film and because the studio didn't want to annoy McDonalds as the scene showed that the gremlins wouldn't touch the burgers.
At least they didn't, which was one of their worst mistakes, since he (SPOILERS) - - - - - killed the leader, Stripe, preventing any more Gremlins to spawn at that time.
Well I believe that, since they were still mogwai themselves (albeit in a different, more murderous spiky and toothy form) they still see gizmo as one of the pack. And, being pack animals themselves, would not kill him out of instinct.
Actually it’s neither! I watched the movie and I looked at those things really closely, I believe that they’re some kind of pod made from the gremlins own fluids! Innit that interesting?
Crazily enough, last Tuesday, I watched some Gremlins fanfilms before taking a nap and then during my nap I dreamt about Gremlins and even the damn song made it into my dream lol
they realized that there will never be a remake of this movie, that humor could not be done in these times, many people would be offended, the little crystals would be very afraid of this movie
I actually drive an old 74 AMC Gremlin and have a gremlin statue in the back, plus I play this song on cassette tape when I drive around my relatives or girlfriend.
I'd already seen it when I went with a friend. As soon as the credits came on she wanted to leave but I said to hang on. She wasn't happy, but when the gremlins' laugh came on she thought it was great.
I love how the music fits the escalation of the Movie structure-wise. 0:00 - 1:05 Gizmo gets wet and creates four to five new Gremlins which are loud, mean and annoying. 1:06 - 2:08 They get fed too early, mutate and create chaos in the Peltzers House. They also switch between being goofy and actually really dangerous. All get killed except the Mohawk-Boss. 2:09 - 3:14 The Boss Jumps into the Pool and now the whole town gets infested with this plague and they wreak havoc in the city. 3:15 - 3:32 Stand-off with the Boss on the fountain.
I think what I've always liked about the Gremlins was their natural alignment. As shown when they were just having drinks and snacks, or watching Snow White (and loving it!), they are capable of being sweet. They're just looking to have fun. The problem is that they don't seem to have much concept of morality, or right and wrong, and are Chaos incarnate. They understand vengeance, and will lash out if frightened, hurt or upset, but if left to their own devices? These little maniacs would get along far too well with the Joker. _"Do I look like the man with a plan to you? I just like _*_doing_*_ things~"_ is their whole vibe. On their biology, given their canon origins from somewhere in China(?), I suspect they come from the Gobi desert, where they don't see much rainfall at all.
You have to admit, even though they are murderous psychopathic creatures, they know how to parrrrtayyy! Heck, even this theme song sounds like something the gremlins would play during a little song and dance number!
