First sound check with my new gretsch kit! Maaaan! These are such beauties! Coated ambassadors on top. Brooklyn 14x5 COB snare. MEINL 22” monophonic ride , 22” tradition light ride and 15” dual hats.
Stumbled on this video when doing some reserch on the Brooklyns. Glad I found it! It convinced me to pick up this same kit (color and config). By the way, fantastic playing! Thanks man!
I bought a set of Brooklyns back in 2014. Got Grey Oyster. They are my dream set--been playing 50 years. They sound awesome, like this. Everyone's taste is different, but for me Gretsch is it.
I own the same set up with the wood snare in Mardi gra finish. They are just great sounding drums.Glad gretsch put the 302 hoops on them.It really opens the drums up.that great gretsch sound.!!!
Whitout mic the sound is very good? Because i have a little garage without resonnance and i want to need if the Gretsch Brooklyn bop need some moongel on Tom and muffler on bass drums?
Yes! All rooms are different for sure, but these drums really project good to the player as well as out in the room. If the room is really dead and without resonance I hardly think it's necessary with dampening, but each to his/her own, some like a full, round and resonant sound, others a short and punchy. Cheers!
Honestly, I think I held on to it for about 6 months before I sold it off. Realized aluminum better suited my playing style and the rooms I found myself in.
@@antonjamesolsson And weighs much lighter....My Brooklyn COB is quite heavy.. I have a Tama SLP Dynamic Bronze, which sounds much better than the COB.
