How does it compare to G2622T? I'm torn between the two as they both are into my liking and within budget. I understand the key differences are in the pickups, electronics, and the neck.
Great playing as always Damon. You are one of the great reviewers out there able to make a guitar sing through different genres. One question, this Streamliner is priced into the Electromatic range by virtue of the pickups alone. How does this compare to the G5622 which is priced the same?
Hi bob. that is indeed true. These are 'proper' Gretsch pickups, so they give this guitar a much more vintage voice than the 5622. I really like this guitar. it takes while to get to grips with it, in terms of pulling the tone out. I used a Boss Cs2 comp and a ge7 at times, but the inherent tone is great.
These are pretty low output. They have a really vintage , almost single coil, garage kind of knarly vibe to them.. look at the black top Filertrons if you want more chime and jangle I think mate.
