We’ve got a foster that has osteosarcoma, she’s 9 and found herself very attached to me, the only problem is that she doesn’t know how to play, is there anything we can do to encourage her to play with toys. She sees other dogs while on walks, cry’s for them but when they come up to her she completely ignores them too
Well I’ve had my beautiful girl for nearly six months now, she’s so obedient and loving, we just can’t believe our luck, her name is Giselle, she will turn four on the 30th of this month, can’t imagine life with out her now, she was worth waiting for.
I’ve got her, onto day three now, she’s settled in very well, she’s black, and her name is Giselle, she’s 3 and a half, and sooo cuddled, just adore her.
Absolutely love your videos. Thanks for everything you do. My desire to get a greyhound increases more and more with each of your videos I watch. Cheers!

Once again a great video Brian, lovely to see the Greyhounds running around having FUN! Like the toys, can't seem to find them in the UK, not to worry though.
Absolutely love your channel I love greyhounds although I don't have one , I do have a lurcher and a Labrador both rescue, my lurcher loves wrestling with my lab , and they chase each other, although my lurcher can sometimes be a little to annoying for my Labrador
Hey Brian - we just adopted a male about half a year ago. Love him to pieces - do you have any recommendations for shedding / dry skin..as that is the only frustrating thing about our big guy
We are currently having difficulty keeping weight on our senior so I don't think I quite know the best way to do that yet. Will have to research that topic a bit more.
Hi I'm looking to adopt a greyhound but I have a rabbit and I'm not sure whether I can have my rabbit anymore got any suggestions. Also do you know if I can train my greyhound to walk of leash in a rural area that isnt enclosed
I know someone who had two Guinea pigs and their grey left them alone, so it might be possible to have a rabbit. I would not recommend having a greyhound off leash unless they are in an enclosure. They could decide to chase something and get lost. Greyhounds do not always have good recall.
My greyhounds are never on the lead. They just trot beside me. Have a sprint in the park then they are done in for several hours. Train them like any Dog with the recalls but no reason whatssoever they can't run free in the park, or the beach. The males, in my opinion, have less prey drive. Take them to a park and practice recall with a whistle to test their recall. Give a treat when they obey you. There is nothing like watching a Greyhound run and they LOVE it. They don't have much stamina so cant run for very long and happy to walk beside you for the remainder of their exercise. Trust your self and they will trust you. One more thing before you key them off lead, take the to a park with lots of Dogs, and introduce them small Dog's just as a precaution. My Dog's just treat small dogs as any other Dogs. They are after all, very social and gentle by nature.
@@phoenixrising5088 thanks for the advice but we looked into a shelter and talked an expert and she said that there has been many cases with first time greyhound owners where they've let them of lead and they've seen a rabbit or a cat and been killed by a car or got lost
@@phoenixrising5088 also we aren't looking into a greyhound anymore as we dont want to give away our rabbit and we would like a dog that could be a bit more trainable
@@connorcarmichael8098 thanks for your reply. That's a pity that you are not getting a GH as they are so calm and gentle. I presume your Rabbit is a house Rabbit. I can only go by my two Greyhounds. One has no pray drive as she was a failed racer, meaning she had no interest in chasing the lure. The first time I introduced her to my friends Cat, she looked curious, the Cat hissed, and Sofie my GH totally ignored her knowing that Cat's are not to be messed with. I don't have a Cat, but it would be no problem with her. If you were to reconsider getting a GH, get one that is a Failed racer, like mine. There are many GH that don't want to chase anything therefore, are no use to the racing industry and behave like any other Dog. My Sofie, has absolutely no interest in chasing anything. I live in an area where there are plenty Rabbits but she doesn't even make any attempt to chase them. I am always sad that people who own GH never let them off lead because they are told by the rescuers to never let them off in open areas. My Dog's, one an ex Racer, is off lead and obeys my commands when necessary. Anyway, that's my experience with GH and know other people who also let them off lead. I live in Ireland, where racing GH is big business but get rehomed after their racing days are over. Well, the lucky ones do.😢
