Charlotte being merged with the dogs is actually foreshadowed by the video of the conjoined twins in the hijacked broadcast. I think the pregnancy phenomenon was a bunch of mothers unexpectedly lost their babies and other mothers found themselves suddenly having conjoined twins.

i think tape 5 is one of the most interesting since the baby disappears but the womb still is stretched to the form as if the baby is still there. i know it's probably because it would be difficult to seamlessly transition between an ultrasonic image with a child to one without, but i think the implications of the space not being fully empty are much more fascinating. outstanding video!

I cannot accurately convey how giddy I was to see a 2.5 hour video of Greylock content. And then the opening had everything I love in this True Detective style montage and I was SOLD. Thank you so much for making this, it's REALLY excellent. You brought up a lot of stuff I missed watching it and even stuff I hadn't heard in other analysis

The dying light music at the beginning feels perfectly befitting of Greylock. Those thoughtforms feel like volatiles.

A few things: *I believe all security clips & recordings seen were data extracted from the SimioDyn facility & viewed by Jim as they become relevant. *I also believe that Jim is undergoing the procedure to awaken his subconscious to deal with the ultimate villain of Greylock. The inevitable TF-3 tape will probably reveal this. *I also believe that Jim is the one in the 'room' trying to recreate the 'ritual' & leaving the tape of the person in distress as bait to catch something. Perhaps the skeletal man. *Tape 004 Unexpected Visitors is presented out of order. The 1st clip is of the woman recording the screams at her window & after she is attacked, the killer takes her camera & continues to record more attacks as well as the moon as seen during the opening of Tape 004. *There are 2 timelines with 2 main antagonists. The 1st is the Tall masked Man during the events of 1987. The 2nd is the Tall skeletal creature featured during the early 1990s. I doubt both are the same entity as both have different abilities. But it would not surprise me if either or both have already been met in the series under different names. Such as Max or Tiffany. *I don't think the concept of Tulpas (ThoughtForms) behave in this series as initially presented. More like a tool than a reason behind the events. Only time will tell. I hope this helps.

I would like to add my 2c to this. I am under the impression that what is inside Mnt Greylock is a thought-form but not the tall man. When Hayes said "to look into gods eyes as an Equal" he was referring to what is inside the mountain. People from every single culture came to one place in defiance of God, they where trying to make a thought-form powerful enough to challenge God's authority, it is a False god that is the embodiment of rebellion of the all mighty. The second thing is that I believe the reason the miners and Charlotte mutated is because of the nature of thought-forms. In tape 03 when they were described as "harmless" and "can't escape" they weren't lying. Thought-forms operate off of belief, they are incapable of doing anything unless people believe they can. Once a Thought-form makes it's presence known it must convince the person that it is a threat, once the person believes they are in danger then it can attack them. Then once they have full been believed in by their victims they can change them into anything they want in the same way a thought-form can be changed by the people that made them. My point is, as long as the people of unit13 understood they could not be hurt by them and could not escape as long as they believed they couldn't it was not an issue to contain them and use them. But my guess is that one person got really scared by them and thought they were in danger giving enough faith to let them escape into the city and kill people in that town

I have a thought about why Charlotte merged with the dogs. Jungian psychology frequently talks about harmonizing the different aspects of yourself to achieve true self-actualization. I think Simiodyne released the shadow within its patients, which is now forcibly merging with its hosts through their flesh. It might also have to do with how pervasive technology is in this world, and that the subconscious is released/assimilated through it. I also think that Mt. Greylock is a physical representation of Jung's idea of the collective unconscious. That would explain why artifacts from all around the world are there. These people found the "true" gods deep within their minds and came to worship them. A further thought: Like Tiffany and Charlotte, the entities took what the ancient peoples loved most as a sacrifice, rewarding them with a perverse form of immortality.

I love how you not only explained what was going on but also showed and let us listen for ourselves it’s much more helpful than people who just say what’s happening and show like one screen shot. I am in love with this video and I love how the theories you provide work very well

It may have taken you a long time, but I've gone through a -bunch- of Greylock analysis vids over the past few months and this one, yours, is probably one of the best I've watched. Sitting through it was actually effortless as you were complete while being concise, and I never felt I was being talked down to, or otherwise humored. I just found out about it in the past few days but I think Greylock is the best horror series I've ever seen. At least adult horror cause I admit the sheer intensity of it is a little much for me and I prefer a little less edge just for my own comfort. I guess that's what makes it so good, it's genuinely horrifying. Not only that but plot is intriguing and complex, script is believable and voice acting is top notch. I wasn't surprised to find out Rob Dyke has work experience that really lends to his believable writing as well as years of experience in video editing. He's basically the Scott Cawthon of analog horror, a man with an unusual background several years the senior of his contemporaries that gives him a complete edge over them. Unfortunately I know this won't be as big as FNAF, but we cant all be as lucky

Real other cool thing I love about this series is that the idea of the thoughtform essentially gives more idea to the fact that things like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, other urban haunted/horror creatures, hell even places that are haunted are only so due to everyone believing in them so much it gives the form/idea enough thought it will manifest, especially if they believe it to be real. Essentially people can manifest the horror deep in their minds to become a reality

I think that the reason why she merged with the dogs is implied in the earlier line (part of the tape interruptions) saying that 'love contorts her flesh and bone'. Perhaps whatever attacked her merged her with what she loved the most? The thing is apparently a being of 'emotions' and 'thoughts', so such a conceptual connection might have given it the power to do that.

I give kudos to whoever played Arnold. He sounds like a professional VA. The fear and paranoia in his voice is so realistic, and you feel bad for him when he gets unalived.

I have a theory that whatever people worshipped and made offerings to at the Greylock sacrificial chamber was a moon god, or the manifested thoughtform of a moon god. It would connect the dots between the thoughtform motif, the moon references, and the supposed entity the people of various cultures across countries. Its already part of ancient cultures that the moon was worshiped. Monday was named after the moon as recipient of worship as other days are named after deities in cultures like Thursday for Thor, Friday for Frigg (odin wife), and Wednesday for Woden, germanic name for basically Odin. You could imagine that a religion or a mythology would create some deep emotions towards a worshipped deity/entity so a moon as a recipient of worship could be manifested as a super powerful thoughtform.

Damn here I was, telling myself I already knew everything there was to know currently about Greylock; then you drop a 2.5 hour video pointing out details I would have never noticed. Stellar video man!!! Thanks for such an in depth video.

One thing I haven’t seen anyone discuss is how in the pile of skulls shown from inside mount greylock, one is clearly not human. I don’t know enough paleontology to tell if this is supposed to be a human mutated by the mountain, or if it’s not supposed to be human at all, perhaps another primate or human ancestor. Anyway, just something I thought I’d mention because I haven’t seen it discussed by any breakdowns

The whole moon thing is actually how we think the moon formed in our reality. Pretty cool how the creator of this series incorporated other real world events, such as the JFK assassination, and blended them with his universe.

The video from Arnold’s closet really reminds me of the bear monster from the movie Annihilation, using the last thoughts/words of its victim to draw out its next victim. It’s so unbelievably unsettling. The audio design and direction of this series is genuinely remarkable. To me, sound is always way more frightening than visuals, and the creator has done a remarkable job taking advantage of that

This video and channel is CRIMINALLY underrated. Easily the best analysis that goes way beyond just talking about headcanon theories and what happens and actually tries to accurately analyze and make sense of what we see in the videos and put together a timeline and even attempt to answer questions we all had on watching.

"This is Massachusetts" (screaming, crying, nightmares, mutilated bodies) "And this is Massachusetts after the monsters arrived" (Tall red zombies and human-dog hybrids everywhere)

Nobody seems to know what's sticking out of the tree in tape 2 so I'm gonna take a stab in the dark here. I think it's the "drive" with the extracted data from tape 1. Mainly because it's shown directly after tape 1, and also because that's the only thing I can see the object resembling while also being significant to the plot. Now, this could be completely false depending on the date at which this event occurs, and there's really no way to verify this as fact. It also raises some interesting questions like "why is it lodged in a tree?" and "how did it get there?" All in all, despite 12 tapes being released, there's still a lot of vital information missing and I think there are a lot of elements of this story that we simply can't piece together just yet. I'm super excited for the next tape because this series is awesome. Thanks for making this video! It's super well produced and I can't imagine how long it must've taken to make

absolutely huge in every aspect. the actors are great. visuals are surprisingly well done. thanks for compiling it all. (the moon creation reveal was a bit too early I think, they should have waited until the next tape)

I may just be crazy or way too over-analytical, but I feel like some bits of foreshadowing within the series of Greylock, like - *super* subtle foreshadowing, was all leading up to Jim Melgren finding out what happened to his daughter, Charlotte; namely in the videos or segments of what I believe to be Jim Melgren investigating and trying to access information from people or SimioDyn tech, to not only learn more about SimioDyn, but about Mount Greylock, too. Charlotte's case just feels like any other case in Greylock - gruesome and tragic with other people going through that in the story too, but because Jim feels like an actual main character, then what happened to his daughter would have more precedent. Of course, not all of what I consider to be "foreshadowing" is probably about her, since some stuff would need to be further explained. In Tape 002 "To The Mountain," that garbled news report of two hikers finding a body of what they thought to be a mangled animal carcass, but had a human skull in the remains, reminds me way too much of what happened to Charlotte, although I don't know if one of those recordings of the blood in the snow is from Jim or not. Maybe the recording where the blood is all dried up is from him. This also could've been someone investigating the mountain from when the malformed coal miners escaped, and what the hikers saw could've been one of the malformed men but deceased? I don't think Charlotte had any ability to move after what happened to her and I don't know when this tape takes place. In summary, I don't think the hikers saw Charlotte per se, but the description of what they did see reminded me of her. In Tape 006 "Sleeping Dogs," I believe it was Jim Melgren investigating the voice recordings that Paul sent to Frank, and in Tape 007 "Back to Normal," Jim talks about how normal healthy adults would just suddenly grow extra limbs, teeth would start coming out of their scalps, or develop sudden physical and mental conditions that doctors couldn't explain; all of which he learned about way before what happened to Charlotte (I also want to say that I thought maybe it was Jim who hijacked the broadcast, but I don't think he would've killed Wright, so it could've been Thoughtforms doing it instead??). None of this is really "foreshadowing," but I found it interesting since it already sets Jim up as someone "in the know," since Jim was given Arnold Rivers' recordings at request that contained information about something in the mountain (Tape 008 "Old Odd Ends") and and so obtain the information of the malformations of the crew. In Tape 010 "Messages From The Dead," Jim finds a dead rat outside and opens up the stitching in its stomach revealing a tape, to where someone yet-to-be-known states to Jim that they won't be answering any of his other questions, but instead says, "I'm going to tell you a story, Jim. A story you've been dying to hear," which means that they're going to answer an even bigger and more important question that Jim had: what happened to his daughter. To which then we have Tape 012, where I would presume Jim is given the footage (somehow) of what the officer seen in the basement of Forever Friends. *Edit:* And just to be clear, some of what I stated up above is most likely just foreshadowing of what would later happen to Charlotte, and not exactly Jim being given clues at some point when she went missing, (because I don't know when Tape 002 takes place, if it's before or after Tape 012), but yeah the whole bit about him learning that people have been transforming into monstrous creatures was undoubtedly a lead up to Tape 012.

Sleeping Dogs is my favorite video! I love how Paul's expression distorts the deeper he goes into the tunnels and the more he becomes a victim until the final moments! super creepy, super disturbing!

This is such a fantastic video, I'm so glad it got recommended to me! One thing to note however, is that we do actually see the tall man very, *very* briefly in the second video. There's a few frames where the camera warps slightly and the mask can be seen very faintly in the bottom left, so far no one has commented on it, and I only know about it because a streamer I was watching discovered it by accident Edit: for anyone who wants to know the timestamp for when the mask appears, it happens at the 1:50 mark in the video, and only appears for 1-2 frames!

Does this mean that there are thought forms that are the result of someone being horny / having a crush on someone. Imagine everyone else’s thought forms being scary monsters or giant spiders and yours is just some dude you had a crush on in college.

I don’t know if this is just obvious, but the way they get sick, or the way their brain and body changes reminds me of an even more messed up version of RADIATION SICKNESS/BURNS

Somewhat late to the party, but something that might be worth mentioning is that we have multiple reports of entities, tulpas, thoughtforms- i.e. "Tall Man", the one with the mask, first making their appearances in the basement, or as shown with the home invaders moving from downwards up. This actually is somewhat interesting-- were you to look at Tape 11, assumedly filmed from the perspective of Jim Melgren, you can see that he is reinforcing his basement from the outside, as if making sure that whatever appears inside can't get out; even further related to him trying to attain the skills and abilities to summon his own thoughtforms via TF-2 tapes.

Greylock has been a huge sigh of relief for me. I just love the ideas it presents and how they are executed. The Thoughtforms are some of, if not, the most terrifying monsters in recent media. The fact that they can look like ANYTHING, can make you just wonder what the next one could look like. Great coverage!

I can't see if anyone else has told you yet but I'll help with some of your lingering questions Apparently, sewing intel into the bodies of taxidermied animals and leaving them in a dead drop (pre-established) location was espionage trick used during the cold war. Most people wouldn't touch dead vermin, so only the intended person would know to grab the dead rat and open it up. Also, Charlotte may have been fused with the dogs because she says they're 'like a part of her' during the newspaper interview. The entity has a sick sense of irony.

Subbed. I could *feel* the passion you hold for analog horror, and this video was so eye-catching that after 2 hours and 40 minutes nonstop I forgot to finish my roast and mashed potatoes. And personally I had that object lodged in the tree on my mind the whole time, and after seeing the moon’s background importance throughout some of the tapes, I’m believing that Mount Greylock was probably centered in that planetary crash. Again, this is good content and speculation, and I’d be glad to give you as much time as you need for absolute BANGERS like this!

Greylock feels like a mix of resident evil, and other great horror franchises that made a baby of nightmare fuel. At the very least it feels like the people in this universe could survive this. It isn’t something unstoppable like local 58 or Gemini home entertainment.

Geez there is a unique terror of a baby vanishing from his/her mother's womb that haunts me. The panic of the mother is visceral, its hard to watch.

My initial thoughts before watching - considering they brought up Tulsa’s and how they’re apparently real in this universe, I thought that all those cultures collectively created some sort of tulpa that was the amalgamation of every culture’s devil or death equivalent. Hades, Anubis, Even the Christian Devil - all of them amalgamated into a nightmare tulpa that could affect everyone around greylock. Edit - maybe the shard of the alien planet is what enabled us to create tulpas?

So about the moon; In the ancient traditions there are often certain rituals or ceremonies that either take place under a specific phase of the moon, or often take the moon into consideration. This is one of the reasons why we call a specific moon phase the "Hunter's Moon". So there is something more related between the Tulpa and the moon.

Here are a few ideas/theories I have: In Tape 002, I think that white thing sticking out of the tree could just be package with a disk. Also, I heard another theory that the light thing could just be the driver checking if anything is out there, and the slamming noise is something attacking them. Then the driver just halls ass out of the woods. Keep in mind, the audio on the radio is saying that "devil has a plan for you", and why would that say it to a thoughtform. Tape 004 baffles me on who is videotaping everyone at the beginning, but I am assuming Jim possibly. Time could also be all over the place, but I think the miners are responsible for the break ins. Tape 012 does feature something no one really notice, that Charlotte's name seems to be pasted over some of the original text, so who ever gave the tape to Jim, specifically made the tape for him. Other theories is that I think there is a possibility of not one, but two cults in play. One cult works with Symodynn, while the other is opposing them (for various reasons). I think the Tall man is a totally separate being who works with the Symodynn cult, but has it's own free agency. I think Alex has a major part of the story, either working with Jim (would make sense, as he could've rise in the ranks in Symodyn's Unit-13) or having his own agenda.

If I had a nickel for every time one of the good guys had a daughter named Charlotte that went missing and they suspected it was the antagonist’s doing in a piece of horror media, I’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
