Darrell and Angela instructors of a dance called Greystone Ballroom from Detroit give a demonstration at the end of a workshop that they gave in Cleveland. July 12, 2008. This dance looks very much like tango in the close embrace, but is done to Soul, R&B, Blues, Jazz and other African-American Music. This couple are not tangueros.

I live in Las Vegas now, and I really miss the ''social'' that's the dance of the 50's till now. only DETROIT. I'll be home soon.

There is no such thing as "you always" do anything when learning to dance. We learned this dance & performed it well by getting with a partner who know how to do it & you just followed their "body movement" without even looking at their feet. You merely "felt" your partner's body sway, you swayed with him & moved your feet counter to his. This dance was so popular back in the 60's to early 70's that you couldn't even get a date to go to the Club if you couldn't do the Greystone Ballroom

to d239239d. I normally don't respond to comments like this, but I can't resist. This video is a demonstration not meant for you to learn from. If you wanted to learn the dance you should have been at the workshop that preceded this demo. If I were to do what you suggested I would have to be riding on his back or running behind him the whole time since he is facing various directions. Notice no one else is running behind him either and they were there to learn.

When ever you learn to do a Slide Line you always get behind everyone and learn from what's in front of you. In that reespect since the Man is always leading the woman the view for learning purposes should be with his back facing the video camera not his face. Makes sense don't it!
