Etho is one of those people that i can't picture being any age, he just exists. He could be anywhere from like 20-2000, and i wouldnt know the difference with him
Etho is the kind of guy you'd expect to be flung to the future from the era of telegraphs and gramophones _(Not to undervalue his technical skill by any means, the greatest scientists that have ever lived where from this era too),_ so making him feel old is a tough task indeed.
I feel for Etho here, I'm still in my 20s, a Millennial, but I have such an appreciation for retro material and games. Growing up I played on the NES, Super Nintendo, N64, Turbografx16, and SEGA Genesis. I've even played those joystick games that you plug into the tv, and I've played at arcades before. Such a wonderful era of gaming that so many kids missed out on. I'm glad to see Etho pay homage to Frogger.
@@kacperwoch4368 Actually, I think Etho might actually be old enough to have played Frogger back in the day. In that picture with his desk setup, I'm pretty sure his mouse pad is from the 80s. Unless he was specifically looking for it in the after market, I think there's a good chance he was there.
This, I'm so with you on this. I have a lot of respect for people who appreciate the classics like you, because so many classics pioneered great things that inspired newer modern creations. The creativity of retro game developers in the past is just incredible. They didn't let all the technological limitations stop them from creating immersive gaming experience. So, if anything, Etho being an old retro gamer makes him all the cooler and makes me respect him even more. I like how one of his favorite is Super Metroid.
@@justanordinaryguy3590 Absolutely! Some of my favorite video games were released when nothing could old even 100mb of storage, let alone 1gb. It's fine to appreciate newer games and advancements, but the classics got us here. And some of those classics still stand the test of time.
The zoomer generation is regarded to start in 1996, though I understand that you might identify more with millennials, "zillennials" are a whole thing.
Honestly hearing that etho was making frogger and watching the process of it made me so happy and hearing him talk about how he made a game similar a drew his own sprites for it made me so involved with this season of hermitcraft. But also like 10/10 would play the game he made.
I’m 30 years old probably a few years younger than Etho is. My guess is that he is still under 40 years old. And I too know what frogger is and played it a lot when I was a kid.
I didn't even know the game had a name xD All I remember is this game device thing with like pre-installed games like tetris and this game that has a dot where you need to go to the other side, and I played that more than tetris as a kid coz I didn't get the goal of tetris back then
I thought Etho was 1986. Not that he really mentions his age, but just from his old videos and stuff he mentions, I thought he was my age (I'm also '86). Either way, I felt that when Grian said "I knoww it's super old" ooooof! Right in the feelings!
Gen Z here, I was watching Etho build the Frogger game (which I had only ever heard of, never actually seen/played) and went “Oh! Thats like Crossy Road!” So, yes, Etho is old. Especially since his channel is older than me-I mean whaaaat
Honestly, most things people just a few years younger than me say makes me feel exactly like Etho did in this clip (for reference, I'm in my early 20s, but am an old soul)
I had that in high school - I ( at the time 18f) was sorting the sweet shop cabinets and said "thank god I'm good at Tetris"... the first years (12-13) asked "whats Tetris? is it like 1010?" ... I had to ask what 1010 was XD
FNAF came out over 10 years ago. Minecraft is almost 14. RU-vid is almost 20. Spongebob is 25. (Made the month after I was born.) Star Wars is almost 50. Thomas and Friends (more specifically the Railway Series) is over 70 years old. Feel old yet? Because I'm not even 30 and my back already sounds like Pop Rocks and Rice Crispies.
Dude, I am 19 years old and hearing Grian call frogger old made me feel physically ill. It's not that old, right? I remember playing it as a kid all the time... Surely, it can't be that old..
Hold on, hold on, hold on a minute! What the hell do they mean that crossy road is a better game than frogger? Maybe I was jus playing the wrong game, but the one time I played crossy road, there was an unskippable 30-second ad after EVERY attempt. it was painful. I'm not particularly a frogger fan, but it was better than THAT
