Glad to see that Etho introduced Grian to a mechanic and within a month or two he's already gone and built a road from his base to the shopping district using the mechanic.
If im not mistaken back in I believe season 7? (or 8) I remember Doc losing a dolphin and tried to get people to find it and no one ever found it... ya I think I know what happened to it...
@@craigds3745 yep that's right, I do remember the dolphin being by the half house with doc and bdubs, but for some reason I didn't think it was his for some reason XD
Well that explains why my dolphin exhibit at my zoo is empty...i think i liked it better when i thought they had somehow glitched through the wall to freedom
Realization just hit me that all those times when I was just casually rowing a boat in my Minecraft world in the ocean I'd come across literally patches of random cod floating and I always just assumed that for whatever reason there was just floating dead cod in the ocean but knowing how the dolphins were programmed this all meant I was just coming across huge groups of dead dolphins most probably
Not much of a save, if the dolphins are trapped with no opportunity to move. But the thing about dolphins AI is actually fairly sad. I guess that AI should be tied to simulation distance, and entities outside of simulation distance should not receive environmental damage. If the entity is on a magma block, it shouldn't hurt the entity, if it's outside of simulation distance. Kind of like skeletons don't catch fire immediately in sun, if it's out of simulation distance. That would save the dolphins.
I think you may be thinking of Keralis' pet dolphin he had, which he had kept attached to a fence post near his base, in the section of ocean he shared with Kebab. It later disappeared on him, and he wondered for a while if it had died.
@@alanlafond9705 I was close xD I think Keralis thought Beef stole it because I remember an episode where another dolphin was caught and there was a trap on Beef's beach
It was actually Doc’s dolphin. Keralis and Beef had… beef. I remember doc had that dolphin under the mansion close to the strip mine and suddenly it was gone. He thought someone stole it.
@@Questerer ah. My memory is bad xD I thought it was Beef because I kinda remember a named dolphin being tied up by his beach but it wasn't the same dolphin.
Doc had a dolphin named Tugger. The dolphin disappeared, and it was assumed it broke off the lead it was on and was just lost at sea somewhere. Later Beef tried to claim he'd found the dolphin, but had just grabbed a random one and gave it the name Tucker instead, not realizing he had the name wrong.
Huh, I always thought dolphins were world-generation spawns (which don't respawn if dead) because I always saw them in roughly the same amounts in the same places I passed by. Strange!
Of course that dolphins spawn with generation. The same way other passive and neutral mobs spawn with world generation. However dolphins follow the same passive and neutral mobs rules and spawn naturally as the time progresses, and don't despawn. Dolphins also can hit mob cap for neutral mobs (because dolphins are neutral mobs), so if you want to spawn bunch of dolphins, you gotta clear the area somehow once in a while. I don't mean kill them, but maybe move them somewhere else? I dunno. Because dolphins don't despawn, as cows and sheeps don't despawn, they'll stay wherever you leave them. But new dolphins can spawn in previously generated areas.
Okay the 'drowning 32 blocks away' must not apply to named dolphins because I have eight and they haven't died (... since I put them in a more secure tank. Don't get pet dolphins guys they are the worst)
that's why in the log of an SMP I was in, it said my dolphin drowned! I was just gone to a friend base to grab some of their stuff, am back and poof, no more daulphin! I was sad
Dolphins in minecraft are so annoying. The dolphin grace power is awful unless you specifically want to swim far. If I'm working on stuff underwater, or killing squid for ink, I don't want to be zooming around. Couple that with dolphins inability to be a normal aquarium pet, almost a useless mob.
