Grian is different. He's not scripted and robotic, and his tutorials tell stories instead of the bare bones structure. He's innovative with what he does, alike many people, but he's warm hearted and open about it , he'll let you know in the best way to go about doing things. And if you ever listened to some of his Q and As on hermitcraft, youd understand he cares and sympathises with his audience.

Jono Smithers with his fire time lapse track “Block by Block” was a tremendous boon to Grian as well, that song just so perfectly encapsulates Grian’s personality and by itself hypes up the build through the entire time lapse. Mad respect to both of them!

Fact: The best builder in Minecraft is probably unknown

I understand that skillset wise, there are of course others who are better at certain skills than Grian. But as a person who doesn't know many MC youtubers, I can't dispute Grian as the biggest builder channel I know.

Grian actually helped me improve my building somehow. It wasn’t from the tutorials and all, it was just from watching him build. The way he builds seems to kinda click with me? Its probably the part of medieval style he has in his builds. But one thing’s for sure, he’s 100% my main inspiration for the way I build today. With the others being the history and the way I usually draw and such.

The only reason grian doesn’t get many subscribers per day is because everyone is already subbed :)

Grian has definitely been my favorite Minecrafter for a few years now but I'm not sure if he's the king of building. There's some people who have been famous for buildingit for a long time like Bdouble00 and Karalis, ect who are like gods of building and I think Grian is up there with them as an equal, no one is the king

You forgot to mention Grian's time with Samgladiator in the Yandere High School series, where he started to get known by his personality rather than his building, and also boosted his channel.

I remember knowing about Grian after watching alot of series from Samgladiator long time ago. He's also the reason why i got interested in building.

When I first heard of Hermitcraft, (I was a bit confused how many youtubers were uploading the same thing, I didn't really get it) Grian was the first hermit who I watched, and I absolutely loved it!

He isnt the best builder by any means but his friendly and straightforward style has made him loved by the community!

I'm still thinking that Wynncraft is easily in TOP 3 of the best Minecraft servers ever made. The amount of time and dedication put into creating everything on it is truly staggering. The size of the map blown me away at first, and then the size only DOUBLED with the Gavel update (now is even triple the original Wynn province size with the Expanse). All the locations have a unique feel and theme to them, which pushes you to explore more and more. Enemies and bosses scale in difficulty with your progress through the lands and quests, always pushing you to grind for better gear and more levels. Some quests are actually very interesting, and there's a lot of them, so you really feel like on a great adventure at times. Sometimes you're even forgetting, you're playing Minecraft, because Wynncraft feels like a completely different game at times, which just shows how many unique game mechanics were put into this.

One reason I think Grian is so popular is because he's not one of those crazy minecraft youtubers hyped up on energy drinks and is overall pretty calm unless he's run into a problem or is pranking someone and is always funny. And it's fun to watch him play because he doesn't yell or anything. And his pranks are funny and smart but never just to Greif. I've also personally learned to build better and more efficiently.😊

A lot of the early Grian videos seem to talk about building techniques that you can actually see throughout Wynncraft. Spikes are often used around the corruption, there's a Hobbit hole near Detlas, etc etc

I love Grian and his Hermitcraft series so much, but I really miss his collaborations with Taurtis. They had such great chemistry and were so enjoyable to watch, especially in the Build Swaps. It would be amazing if they did a video together, but I don't think it'll happen sadly.

I love Grian, he brought me into watching Minecraft videos. I started with seeing his building wars videos, then his tutorials. I started watching him in Hermitcraft close to the beginning, he just released episode 8. I thoroughly enjoyed it and so went back and watched 1 - 7 to catch up. After that I went and binge watched his Evo series. I love his pranks, he has such a great sense of humor. And his building skills had me in awe of his talent.

One of my favorite parts of his Hermitcraft series is the build-off, where him, Mumbo, Scar, and Iskall would race to build a giant structure to the world height limit and they would sabotage each other's builds in creative ways.

I came to grian from mumbo, and found him from videos such as “grian proof house” and “Building vs Redstone” made by mumbo and had grian 2nd parts. Love you grian!

Give credit where it's due, King is a mighty honor to bestow on one when so many deserve recognition. If you ask anyone in the Minecraft community about their own achievements, everyone will give credit and inspiration to one another. This is a community that builds each other up, making a space where everyone can both learn and teach.

Grian is my absolute favorite hermit. I love his amazing personality and attitude. I enjoy every single one of his episodes. I started off binge watching his hermitcraft season 6 episodes, particularly enjoying the civil war (spoilers lollll probably not), then expanded to mumbo, lately Scar, Iskall and Bdubs. Amazing guys.

I think something you left out which was very important to his success was his friendship with Taurtis and samgladiator which definitely brought a large audience to him because of his part in Sam's very popular MC yandere series

i first fell in love with grian from sam's yandere series and tautis' vids but then they stop making content so i started watching grians build swap vids and then stopped watching minecraft as a whole. then a few years later i fall in love with a pig called technoblade and see him simp over grian. now im here wondering how grian got so big but ended up having major nostalgia. im so proud of him i wna cry. i remember when he and taurtis used to be like sam's "sidekick" and was so underrated, im so glad he got to where he is now.

One of the best parts of grian is that he doesn't give direct tutorials on builds. Usually people who make tutorials give you a step by step on an exact replica of a certain build. Grian on the other hand, is not like that. He shows off builds that he made and gives you tips on how to make stuff like it. For example, on the video based on how to build a modern house, he gives you tips on what it should look like using his own. He states several times in his tutorial videos that he does not like it when people copy his work from his videos. He says his channel is for people to learn about building (and to play minecraft of course). This is why grian is such a great builder and youtuber. He's so different from everyone else that he grows in popularity, thus better showing off his growing skills.

"King" is an overstatement. While Grian and other famous RU-vidrs do have talents in building, there are thousands of other master builders who, arguably, build better than him. So just because someone is popular, doesn't mean they're the best.

I've been watching him since 2014 and its honestly satisfying seeing his building skills grow and also I think one of the things that made him popular was the yandere/Tokyo ghoul series he's in with Sam since it was very popular at the time

I think a major reason he works so well with hermit craft is his antics are a driving force for a lot of the major events in hermit craft.

I still remember about 4 years ago when me and my friend went to MineFaire in Philadelphia and Grian walk past me and I just stood there in awe of being so close to some one I was such a huge can of.

I think my first Grian video was a building one (either a tutorial or the build swap challenge), but I loved watching his old non-Minecraft stuff like Gang Beasts with Taurtis and Dom the most (when the cape glitch was a thing still) and the drawing game (Moana to Moan). I watched the videos with Sam, but only for the time Grian and Taurtis took part. I took a break from him for awhile until I actually got a RU-vid account and finally subscribed to people. I enjoy his pranks on the Hermitcraft server the most.

you forgot to talk about the collabs grian and mumbo did before hermitcraft I think that mumbo and grian had lots of viewer overlap even before hermit craft and you didnt even mention the thing that i think really skyrocketed grian build swap his minigame, yandere high minecraft roleplay (probably better forgotten), and maybe some other stuff but over all good vid

shoutout to keralis, the grian of yesteryear, the og king, seeing a lot of scar love too which is great, but all builders in minecraft are kings to me, the community is great atm and im happy to see grian at the top, just thought keralis's name needs a drop as he provides great exposure for other amazing builders too in his inspiration series, on top of building great things himself, combining great designers builds, giving credit each time

I Legit love Grian because of his build first, but as the time goes, I really like his personality as well, he really is funny and make my day when I watch it.

Will you do a video about JerryandHarry just like this and what has change over the past 5 years of them doing build battle? They are literally stuck in a content loop and all they do is build battle. It will be really cool if you do a video on them just like what you did to Etho's lab or Captainsparkles like they have longest running lets plays, etc.. Jerryvsharry is very interesting because they have 2 channels with 1mil+ subs and never had a face reveal, never talked about their lives (welp sometimes but not in too much detail) and yeah they are just a fun youtuber to talk about
