this dude made me a Griffin fan.. all i was a LaRue guy..now i am building a Mk2..shorty and will get this optic..for my LaRue 20 in with PSR can.. This guy roocks! cheers from Maine.. i wish i had that type of field for shooting! wow !
Ha I love it! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the content and I really appreciate the support! Lots of fresh content coming so hope you’ll stay tuned to check it out.
Absolutely love Griffin suppressors. I have the PSR-7 for my Mock-110 and couldn't be happier. I'm glad that Griffin threw their hat into the ring and DRASTICALLY dropped the price of OTB gate-lok suppressors.
You and C-does are my two favorite channels. Because I can tell you both are honest and down to earth. I am curious about Griffin Armament scope mounts? Went with a Spuhr for my new rifle. But too expensive to have on every rifle. One be cool to compare both. Weight and return to zero.
I actually own both as you can see in this video. Spuhr is a great mount but like you say they are expensive, and I’ve broken 2 of the side mount plates (great customer service and quick fix through mile high shooting) on my sp4016s. I’ve only had the griffin a couple months now but so far, no complaints. It’s worked well and has stayed secure, not a bad option especially when considering price.
Really enjoy your content!! By far, my favorite of this genre on RU-vid. Thank you, and keep 'em coming. I just received my first can, and I'm looking forward to doing some experimentation on different rifles, and bolt guns vs. AR platforms. Your videos are inspiring. Thanks again.
Appreciate your content. Always informative. You save me money by doing the field work on things I wasn't quite curious enough about to burn through the ammo and find out for myself. I really liked the battle 0 video but all have been helpful. Thanks for putting in the time and effort.
I'm waiting for a Red Dawn/ ZomPoc book or movie where he makes a cameo. "Hi folks, today we're testing out my SR-25 on these parachuting Russians. We're going to see how much lead you need in order to put rounds on target before they hit the ground"😂
Really appreciate the support! I’ve got a lot of fresh content in the works so hope you’ll stay tuned to check it out. Do me a favor and share word of the channel with your shooting buddies!
For a 556 you might look at something like the griffin PSR 5. It isn’t a gate latch can like these but it does mount back over the barrel similar to these. It will use their dual lok attachment method which is a much more universal setup assuming you have enough clear barrel behind the muzzle for the mount/ suppressor.
@@MountainsMulletsMerica yeah I've seen those, I just really like the full over the barrel suppressor like the m110 has. I'm sure the psr sounds and performs fine but I just love the esthetic of the longboi m110 can
You can also look at the Allen engineering AEM5 for 556. Like the griffin it isn’t a gate lock but it does slide back over the barrel. I picked one up about two months ago and still waiting on it to get out of jail.
MMM, Imma just go out there and say it- I absolutely love your channel and i hate to fanboy, but it brings me great joy learning from you. Im an LR308 kinda guy. I love the SR/Mod 0. love love love it. Do you have any words for the .300 blk vs 308 suppressed guys that are stuck between a rock and a hard place when choosing which is better for them as an all around build?
First off, I really appreciate the support. It’s awesome to hear you’re finding value in watching my content. I’ve got a lot of new videos in the works so hope you’ll stay tuned to check them out! With regards to 300blk vs 308, that’s a tough one for me as they are kind of apples to oranges. To me 300blk is a great option if you want a small/ light rifle package that you plan to run suppressed with subsonics. Call it a 200 yd setup. I love 308 for several reasons and that’s the way I would lean in this debate due to the type of shooting I like to do. I’m not sure 308 is a great all around caliber for most shooters though because the rifles are much bigger and heavier, the rifles are more expensive, the ammo is more expensive, more recoil but you do get more range capability which I enjoy. If I were looking to add a general purpose/ do it all rifle to my fleet I know it would be on a small frame ar, maybe something with an 11.5” barrel in either 556, or maybe 300blk that I’m running subs and supers
I didn't realize when I first started watching this channel a while back that you were a baller 😂 Knights rifles everywhere you look lol! What do you do outside of RU-vid bro?!?!?
Awesome content! If you ever want to do thermal target shooting, let me know. I've got an N-Vision Halo X50 thermal scope (BAE core) that I would be happy to loan you for use on your channel. You just need to purchase the thermal targets or hand warmers to shoot at. Might be worth delving into this topic at some point. Especially as thermal has meteorically grown in popularity lately. Something unique, IMO. Keep up the great work, brother. Cheers!
The camera facing me after dark is a sionyx NV capable camera. Surprisingly affordable and impressively capable so long as there is moonlight. On a dark night it’s not very effective but I also don’t like shooting when it’s that dark so it all works out haha
Oh man, that's a tough one! Each can will help you build out an iconic rig! I'd say go with which ever will let you complete the rig you'd shoot most often. Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
How would someone go about getting just a barrel [if its proprietary for the use with M110 gas block] , and the M110 style gas block to use with their own upper and lower?
Oh man several options out there right now. Check out sr25 cartel for barrels and gas blocks. Also rainier has an m110 profile barrels readily available. Griffin can hook you up with the correct flash hider.
Once I get myself relocated to a free state I can look at adding new rifles to the fleet. Right now, the laws in my state are really bad and restrict my ability to get new gear. Don’t worry though, I’m in the middle of fixing that as we speak. I can for sure keep the dd5v3 in mind. As a heads up though, these cans wouldn’t be compatible with any other rifle than an sr25 setup with the correct gas block and muzzle device. They are epic cans but require a specific setup to mount properly.
Assuming your mk13 mod 5 is equipped with the correct spec barrel, then yes the MGL11 should be compatible. The mod 5 barrel was equipped with the gate latch scallops as well as the correct muzzle diameter to run the kac mk11 mod 0 can…. The MGL11 would be a direct replacement for that original kac can.
@@MountainsMulletsMerica thanks! I do have the correct Mod 5 barrel but currently have the mod 7 Lilja barrel spun on the mk13 to utilize my regular cans but since this is an obtainable option ill be having my gunsmith throw the original barrel back on her! A win for me and Griffin! Thank you
So while agree one of these would be epic for a mk12, these cans aren’t really setup for use on a mk12. These are specifically designed for the sr25 gate latch system. For a mk12, you might look at the griffin psr5 which is an over the barrel design similar to these but it uses their dual lok attachment method. This provides you a more universal mount option that would work with a mk12.
I’m using 2 different tripods. The one with the extendable center rod is the ultradyne carbon fiber tripod with arca/ pic head. The other is the two vets recon with area 419 arca head (55mm I believe).
Can you address POI shift? My understanding of POI shift is that it is the shift that occurs, if any, between removing the silencer and replacing the silencer. That is not the same POI shift as shooting with a silencer and without a silencer.
Great question and I think ultimately both examples would be described as poi shift. In this video, I was actually kind of testing for both. To me, poi shift is how much the impacts more with the suppressor installed vs removed but my expectation is that when reinstalling the same can on the same rifle the poi will back to the same spot every time…. If you reinstall the same suppressor onto the same rifle and it doesn’t go back to the same poi, that’s a problem in my eyes.
Yeah it’s really a shame what some of the states are getting away with around restricting 2a rights. I’m in the middle of relocating to a new state to get my freedoms back, really a shame such drastic action is required to enjoy the sport.
