I watch the 1 moa challenge on Texas Plinking, 1 moa @ 1000 yds. No spotter, no warm ups. As I watch I wonder what the target looks like. This video gave me the idea I was looking for as well the wind adjustment necessary for that level of wind. Im impressed that you made 1100 yards with a 16” ar style rifle. Thanks for the video ,subscribed, best of luck in your endeavors.

Got HK 223 A3 and had the 308 in loan for few months. They are freaking accurate. I have doped my MR223 out to 1200yds few times and frequently to 770. Last time at 770 I knocked 6 targets of 1 to 3 moa all on first shot. I am pondering on buying the HK 308 A3, A1 used or waiting for the Sako AR10 version to come up. Usual accuracy with bulk is 1.3 to 1.8 moa Match loads 0.8 to 1.2ish (been a looong time since I shot any but tested like 10 different) My handloads are quite the same, but definitely usually below 1moa. At 1 moa 5 shot group I know I messed up which is fantastic. My last 10 shot group is 0.7 moa. My load is: 75gt HPBT, 24.3gr N540.

That juggernaut is a dandy in 308. I guess it’s the bearing surface but it seems to give velocities very close to 175’s in my gun. One more thing you could add to your presentations might be a WEZ analysis if you have that software. Kind of computed differences vs observed. Tough conditions in the video so harder to draw conclusions. As an Hk fanatic and berger fan this video tugged my heartstrings

It has insane performance accuracy and stabilization for a 16" 308. It sounds cliche, but most people who hate this gun hate the exclusionary price tag. Mine has no trouble holding a half inch or better with 178 handloads. Smks and other high end will also get there, but i dont have as many of those rounds through it to be definitive.

Enjoyed the video. As a fellow Hk MR762 A1 owner I think we really need a better day shooting with it. It was fairly impressive watching it handle the wind fairly well but ammo and wind on it kinda gave a it a mediocre finish. Maybe better ammo with a decent velocity spread and maybe NOT quite that windy. I get it you’re getting out of your comfort zone which we all need to do but for a review I wouldn’t have done that. Break out the SR25 and work on the wind calls etc. something you know fairly well. As always appreciate your content.

I have the LRP I & LRP III packages. Both were accurate right out of the box. The farthest I have shot both were 500 with average 762 NATO rounds. I can't say enough good about both. Yes, the price is up there, but the "package" comes with a few more items not shown or mentioned in your video. I found the LRP III for just under 6k. The bare MR762 rifle is just under 4k. To me they are priced in range with all other HK implements. Thanks for the review. I need to go shooting now!

I've had mine for 8 years now, and it has been excellent. I have to start running some 175gr SMK and TMK to see what it can do. IT's only a 16.5" barrel, so it's not getting top tier velocity, but still a solid performer. Furthest I've shot with it is 791 yards, going 2 for 10 with a little wind, and 168gr FGMM SMKs. The T5Xi 3-15x50 was a perfect size match for getting out to that distance too.

You have easily one of the best long range/ precision shooting RU-vid channels out there! I used to do a bit of a long range up to a thousand yards but have run into some health issues. I had to sell off most of my rifles except for My Daniel Defense M4A1, Cz 457 AT ONE and my EDC. I have a vortex Razor HD 3x18 on my cz457. Reason I bring it up is financially. Things have gotten difficult where I get sick, watching your videos semi replaces being able to shoot out of distance with higher caliber rifles that I had to sell. Definitely have learned a few things watching you shoot! The furthest I've taken my cz457 is roughly 440 yards, still fine but not the same. Keep up the good work dude!! Merica 🇺🇲🙏🏻👍🏻

Great job on this video. The only HK I would be interested in buying if I had the money is the HKM27 rifle only in the $4,000 range that I have seen. Just because the Marine Corps used it mostly. I’ve been practicing in the wind recently and set up 2 simple “flags” really just a sick with a white grocery bag cut up and made in to a streamer like flag and the other one is about 100 yards away that I cut the bag with a little pouch into it so I can add pebbles into it to weight it down so when the wind is really high it won’t just be blowing straight sideways. Just add pebbles to where it’s more or less soaring at 45 degrees lol.. it works great and I believe it’s helping me read wind like never before. For me anyway it’s takin a while to be able to intuitively read the wind which is what I’m trying to get better at! Cheers and good shooting!

Rant...Thank you for calling this out as being overpriced, and that's coming from an HK fan. For the $6k-$7k street price, and $8.5k MSRP, it should be significantly better equipped. I can buy a seekins sp10 (spoiler alert, I did after selling the MR762), which are well documented to be highly reliable and group 1/2 to 3/4 MOA (can confirm, most accurate gas gun I've ever put on paper) for $2700 and still have plenty of money left over for a nice piece of glass and bipod before I reach the price of the MR762 LRP. Not to mention the SP10 has a superb single stage timney trigger as standard, adjustable gas block, and takes standard AR10/SR25 mags. You technically can't even run a standard (non-flow through) suppressor on the MR762 without installing a $500 Waffen Burk adjustable gas block. I don't regret many gun purchases, but the MR762 LRP is definitely on that list. I got sucked into drinking the kool aid by the HK forum douche bags that think everything HK makes is god tier. Lesson learned for sure.

I went from thinking one of our guys at work was over-hyping Seekins (I wasn't familiar with them), to completely reversing my opinion after meeting Danny and Matty Nelson (Seekins Reps) at an industry event. I was so impressed by them that I purchased two of their rifles (HIT and a SP-10) within a few months of that trip. One of the positions we were shooting from was a kneeling position off a cattle gate, and bracing the stock against a tripod leg. Matty was cheering me on while spotting for me as I had a 2.5" group going at 600 yards... which I then proceeded to turn into a 5" group with the last shot. Matty was more disappointed in that last shot than me, but it cemented that I wanted an SP-10. Months later I found out that GA Precision builds their GAP-10 using Seekins' receivers and handguard.

At 1100 yds your corrective shots were very late. The semis shine in bad wind conditions at least not ELR distances as you can make a corrective shot just as you spot the miss! The hardest part in this is to keep mental notes of wind conditions to learn and also read if the wind actually changed drastically from the first shot.

That amount of wiggle is pretty typical of skilled tripod shooting. As someone that has done a lot of tripod shooting both in competition and on my own range days, I'm actually fairly impressed with how steady he is off a tripod. @charlesmartin1121
@charlesmartin1121 3 месяца назад

More that it can hold the machine gun in a specific spot/at a specific angle for a long string of fire, and since it requires less precision than trying to land a single shot, the effect is a tighter beating zone at distance, increasing shot density for a longer range than a bipod with a squishy human behind it

My MR762 seems to do well with 175g GMM if wanting to push >650 yds. Transonic experience on the 168g was not so great. I’d have to tried 185g, but based on this video, I’ll definitely take a look. I’m running the MR762 Geissele trigger, which I’d recommend. Tighten up my grouping a bit better. Recoil impulse seems better than say SCAR-17S. Proprietary mags are a pain and I’m still trying to find an ambi charging handle from, Geissele. I love my MR762, but the proprietary nature of HK is a pain. I’d get the same performance or better with any other AR-10. I have it to have it. It’s a tank. But I could’ve saved $1000-2000, which could’ve been another set of optics lol.

@@MountainsMulletsMerica Some differences: 1. Larger bolt catch paddle. 2. All Steel upper with a slight notch in the deflector. 3. Rear Flip up sights. 4. S&B 3-20 x50 scope with an aimpoint t1, integrated laser filter and tenebraex kill flash. 5. G28 Handguard with flip up sights built in. 6. Plastic fire selector switches. 7. G28 style flash hider. 8. Adjustable gas block. 9. HK v7 grip with tool inside. 10. LLM-225 Some things that are nice about the LRP package are you get the G28 stock, extended buffer tube, heavy barrel profile, ambidextrous end plate, and the larger castle nut. If you choose to get some of these other things to make a clone, make sure you get them directly from HK and not the scumbag resellers. I really enjoy your videos and your presentation style. I would love to request that you use a spotting scope with a camera attached or perhaps a camera with a magnification lens pointed down range as your “spotter”. That way we can see the trajectory and shockwaves of the projectile going down range.

I’m ok with the accuracy you got. But I’d be real hesitant on the rifle due to needing a trigger right out of the gate and it don’t run standard AR mags and failure to feed. I enjoyed the video. And heck no on that price.

Another great video! Good demonstration about what shooters can actually expect from High Quality gas guns. My SIG762 G2, ($2,800) with standard NATO ball shoots...maybe 1.25. With Lapua Factory 175 its better at .75, as well as Factory Federal Gold Medal 168- also about .75. Keep up the excellent content- this is a gold mine.

HK M110A1 is a super solid platform . I personally do not think it's worth the money . Seekins SPM10 or Larue OBR I believe are half the cost with identical performance. Geissele did win SOCOM Contract for CSASS and SASS but different units have diffrent needs that's why some units use SPM10 , some use M110A1 and others use Geissele. I've always favored Larue AR10s when it comes to CSASS / DMR or SASS .

Great review as always. 185 juggernauts are my favorite bullet for .308. They're super efficient for the case volume and great bc. I shot my friend's mr762 and ended up buying a sig 716 16" for myself. The sig does everything the mr762 does but at a lighter weight and 1/3 the cost. Getting 3/4moa with the 716 and 185gr juggernaut FGMM ammo. The one possible advantage the mr762 might have is shooting suppressed with the piston configuration but my sig 716 shoots great suppressed, just a little over gasses as you might expect.
