He was! And mad respect for him when he actually stayed and even spoke with the guy that just beat him. I wanted to like Forrest so much but I got a pass from Iraq and while home I watched Forrest vs the spider Silva and Forrest running for the locker room after the fight did it for me. I couldn’t respect that anymore.
Right at the end of the video when they are all on stage, Tito goes and shakes Chael's hand and Chael said something to him, my only logical guess as to what that could possibly is; "...tell us a Lion story, Tito!"
Max had two knockdowns against volk in their second fight. Henderson had two knockdowns against bisping in their second fight. Frankie got knocked down multiple times against gray Maynard 🤷🏼
To be fair this is video that edited down a 3 round fight and only showed clips that was biased towards Ortiz. I think it’s pretty clear from the post fight interview who won the fight, Ortiz’s face was absolutely fucked up and Forrest had almost no damage on his face.
Without actually seeing the whole fight, I couldn't say, I mean lots of people are of the mindset that if you knock someone or take someone down once you win the round by default. However Forrest leaving the ring immediately after the fight, would be the surprising aspect that he won.
Griffin dressed up like he is just going out with his family to eat and movies, while Ortiz he dressed up like a businessman with huge amount of money in the bank
Embarrassing for Tito if you think about it..He loves the sport but if you gotta fight well into your 40s without much success..Probably time to call it.
@@paul111287 i meant forest griffin had left the octagon because he was embarrassed and thought he lost . Dana made him go back in to accept the results and he even knew he lost lol
I look back at these press conferences and genuinely wonder how on earth I was ever a fan of tito... Every time he opens his mouth I just feel embarrassment 😂 This was genuinely one of the angriest moments from Dana White
Amazing how guys cut weight, I met Tito about 10 years ago, cool guy, he is big & tall with a huge head/neck...205 lbs? He was at least 225lb when I saw him if not 235lbs. We met through a friend at a nightclub were hanging with his entire team punishment crew in their large VIP area and a huge fight broke out among them and for a brief while it was mayhem with like 20 MMA fighters either fighting or trying to break it up and I was right in the middle (my friend took off) helping break it up lol it was crazy, the only person I knew was Tito and I had just met him, there were other UFC fighters I recognized. Definitely one of my most memorable nights out.
@@joeym3608 uh no, losing 20-30 pounds for fights....the point is Tito was fighting at 205, but weighed and looked a LOT bigger. He was monster sized for fighting at 205. Damn you are dense.
@Alfonse Corleone Liddell-Couture, Velasquez-Dos Santos & Miocic-Cormier were all title fights; Griffin-Ortiz matches occurred before/after contention. It's the internet, don't cry so hard over simple commentary,
'"""Tito" This is the fight I wanted, this the fight I needed, this is the fight I got, this is the fight I personally dont even know if I'm in anymore, because this is a fight I've trained 36 hours a day, 6 min a week, and 22 weeks a month, and I know I know, I relize that might scare you, but this is a fight I will fight because fighting is what fighters do when we are fighting and that, is powerful stuff. You see, I'm this lion in the safari, and they are these jackals, jackals that are trying to take what is mine, the lion, and I'm this lion, and I see these jackals trying to take all that I've done, and, and, all that I've done, and these jackals are all around me, and at that point, it is survival of the fitness"
Round 1) 10-9 Tito Got a takedown and didn’t get hit too significantly. Round 2) 10-9 Tito He lost the majority of the round imo, but scored a knockdown. Round 3) 10-9 Tito Scored a huge knockdown and secured the takedown. 30-27 Tito
its not boxing man, knockdowns dont auto-win you the rounds, i think theres a decent argument Tito was outworked in the first, other than the knockdown he did nothing of note in round 2 and yeah he definitely won round 3.
This is why ufc judging rules suck we have no clue how much a knockdown should matter in judging a round it’s fights like these that become massively confusing because of it
@@joefosh it’s about damage. Tito knocked Forrest down bad, Forrest didn’t. You really going to give a win to a guy who got taken down and knocked down more than once?
"Gotta do SOMETHIN, you gotta do *SOMETHIN* when you get outta bed in the mornin... And wrestlin around with DUDES is what *I* wanna do." - Forrest Griffin
If you watch Titos older interviews and media the guy could talk very well, and he was always smiling and making jokes then something happened and he just couldn't talk anymore and he was always like wwe about his expression. Like how he looks so intense and angry and when he says stuff he enunciates every word. Its just weird. Maybe too many concussions.
I used to think Tito was just arrogant. But, I didn't see this whole fight, but if it's a great depiction than Tito Won. And at 37 yrs old, he's awesome.
The most likeable fighter ever by a ton Forest Griffin, Dana and Tito talked sh.t about the mic issue. Forest clearly gave Tito too much respect and wanted to show he thought Tito was too good to retire. Forest wanted his respect " ON RECORD ." Forest is the reason UFC WAS loved.
Forest Griffin: everybody has to get up in the morning and get out of bed and do something. "I wanna get out of bed in the morning and wrestle with dudes"....LMFAO 😂😅😅😅 that statement couldn't have sounded anymore strange and werid....l.o.l 😅😅😅😅
Titos face was busted up bad and forests wasnt which is hilarious the way the fight looked lol its funny how Dana was mad that forest was interviewing tito to
I didn't know Tito retired back then. I could have swore he's fought a bunch since. It's almost like Tito just couldn't hang with the best no more so he had to go fight low level competition & a 84 year old Chuck.
I got to give it to Tito just this once. Ariel helwani tried asking a question and he got shot the fuck down with the statement that your Daddy isn’t hear to protect you 😂😂😂
