Good title for the piece, given it was composed in 1912.
Grigori Abramovich Krein (1879 - 1955) was a Russian composer.
Krein studied in Moscow with Jan Hřímalý, Paul Juon, and Reinhold Glière, and from 1905 to 1908 with Max Reger in Leipzig. Since 1913, he and his brother Alexander were members of the Moscow branch of the Society for Jewish Folk Music. He worked as a violin and theory teacher in Moscow. From 1926 to 1934, he lived with his son Julian in Vienna, Paris, and Berlin, and then again in Moscow, as well as from 1941 to 1943 in Tashkent.
Krein composed a symphony, a violin concerto, a Hebrew Rhapsody, the symphonic poem Saul and David, a concert fantasy for violin and orchestra, Three Symphonic Episodes, Four Songs without Words, and a string quartet.
