I don't know how to explain this, but this interpretation feels to me like the sound of the first fresh rain of the season. Something about the way he plays it makes it feel that way.

That's classical music, it reflects on nature, this is a thing that isn't being recognized enough, but we can all agree that it can give a specific feeling of nature and weather

Just come to Europe. His tours have given dates, and almost never change. For example - he always performs around 5th of May in Amsterdam. Every year the same.

1:45 - he is not only producing sounds via the keys but also with his hands. I don't know whether he clapped intentionally but it sounds incredibly like pizzicato.

Masquer l'art par l'art lui même, la légèreté et la gentillesse de cette pièce n'égalent que sa difficulté. Merci M. Sokolov de faire vivre et vibrer l'art des vieux maîtres français

Almost unbelievable articulation from Sokolov. This piece is quite difficult on a piano due to the many overlapping notes.

Just a pure beauty - virtuosity , melody , technique. Watch for the first time in October 2019 and became hooked to that masterpiece. Watch it probably 100 times, then stopped. Reason -don’t want to get used to it. When in bad mood, or in need for brightening the day just pops in my mind unconsciously

Lots of hassle for the visa with impolite bureaucrats, lots of immigration cops stupid questions, your luggages are opened and often stolen by some cop so a lot of people prefer now to stay in Europe or travel to Asia. And St Petersburg is so beautiful...Come in Europe.

@@yosserc Yes items of my luggages stolen at the Miami airport without any effraction ie by someone having the good keys. That was made probably during the revision by the cops of the customs, the lone guys to have the pass keys for opening the luggages. Several persons, including me, arriving for a naval engineers and architects congress at Miami from all Europe, several USA towns and Canada by different flights discovered that their luggages were "revised" without effraction and that items were stolen surely in the Miami airport.

There are no recordings of Couperin playing himself, so we will never know. During that time the Composer and the Musicians played only live-concerts where they had to entertain the people. So the did not play the same piece in the same way. Bach and Händel, for example, played rather jam-session than "classical" concerts.
