I think if Shawn Michaels was... more professional let's say then maybe the Hart family would have been treated better and I think a few of their members might still be alive. Look at how the Hart's were treated by the WWF during 1996/97 and compare that to how the little shit HBK was treated by Vince McMahon. Later on in say the 2010's when the WWE was different the level of unprofessionallism that Michaels had would of gotten him fired. But they allowed him to have his way, and held back people like Davey Boy Simth. In my opinion alot of what happened during this time period helped drive the Bulldog to the grave.
@AmericanGypsy206
@AmericanGypsy206 3 месяца назад
I do agree, even though I’m a fan of HBK I heard of his ego problems and his backstage attitude and politicking he was given so much freedom because he was one of Vinces favorites and he knew that and he used that to his advantage and the WWE and WCW didn’t give Bret Hart the respect he truly deserved. He was screwed by both companies after the Montreal screw job at Survivor series 97 I never looked at wrestling as the same it’s an unprofessional environment with shady people running it and I’m not speaking about the modern era because I no longer watch Pro wrestling but back in the 90s and early part of the 2000s there was a lot of backstage politicking and unprofessionalism in both the WCW and the WWE… I was a fan of wrestling. I still listen to the podcast and when I have a chance, I watch some of the older stuff but I don’t watch the current product WWE or AEW. It’s just garbage 🗑️

I'm from the UK and me and my mates loved Davey as kids. Watching SS92 was incredible seeing him win the IC belt. I went to Bret's speaking tour and it's amazing to hear him talk about Davey and how smashed he was during the match.

I became an immediate Fan the first time I saw The British Bulldogs as a Tag Team! Mat Wrestling, Brawling Skills, Power Moves, Aerial Attack Athleticism they had it all. The Bulldogs and The Hart Foundation were so far above most of the other Tag Teams in The WWF during that era, it wasn't even funny. i got to meet Diana and Davey, Jr. a few years ago at a Wrestle Con on a WrestleMania Weekend and got all my British Bulldog Questions answered. Thank you.

Sad as Davey's story is, what an athlete. He was the only 275lb muscle guy who could keep up with the likes of Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels in the ring and his strength was genuinely frightening. There's a match where Mabel had him in a camel clutch and Davey stood up with him on his shoulders and dropped him - on commentary, JR said that might be the most impressive feat of strength he's ever seen.
@MattSingh1
@MattSingh1 Год назад
*He was able to keep up with Bret and Shawn because he was naturally light. He only reached over 250lbs because he was on massive doses of anabolic steroids, hence why towards the end of his life/career he had serious knee and back injuries. Smith was carrying around far too much synthetic weight for his naturally small frame. Plus he was barely 6'0", and probably under that.*

Conrad; The British Bulldogs did eventually face Rock 'n' Roll Express. It was for the World Wrestling Alliance (formerly Central States) in Kansas City at WWA International Bash on February 2, 1989; which also included All Japan Pro Wrestling talents coming in for the show (the card was also aired in Japan). The special referee for the match was former NWA World Champion, Pat O'Connor. Here is the match in its entirety... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ScrEGO51RJg.html

Not every great wrestler could be world champ, especially back in bulldog’s prime when the strap actually meant something. World champs should be the total package.. and while Davey was great, he couldn’t cut a promo to save his life & needed to be carried in-ring to have great matches (see Summerslam ‘92.. everyone’s fav match of that year … but Bulldog had been smoking crack with anvil all summer & wasnt in ring shape + got gassed 5mins into the 25min match & Bret made all the magic happen)

@@NLaBar Have to agree with you. People think that just because a guy's a good wrestler that means he should've been champion. Bulldog didn't measure up to what Hogan was back then, was never as white hot as Warrior, was never as technically sound as Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels. He was right where he should have been, a really good mid-carder. And there's nothing wrong with that.

It pisses me off that Tony Khan has downsized Jim Ross' commentary time on AEW programming. He's still the best, still tells it like it is, and brings a credibility that the others just don't. These 4-man commentary teams are overkill and although he does a good job, Excalibur is overused. It should be just JR and Taz, or JR and Schiavone. Tony Khan needs to wake up and realize that he's got the modern day Gordon Solie at his disposal and he needs to use him than for more than just one hour on Friday nights. It's bullshit.
