Yeah that would’ve offset the funny as heck scenes. Give Grim some semi-Serious scary scenes. Where he actually does something. Beyond this scene he doesn’t get really “Kill / Scary” besides these few moments.
I just realized that this guy has seen the worst of humanity. He’s seen plagues, great betrayals, destructive wars from the Sengoku Jidai to the World Wars and the Holocaust. The master of life and death. And here he is enslaved to two children and lost to a manic housewife. He must find it weird how things turned out.
True, but considering how much later seasons have shown how much of a dangerous dickish dumbass Billy is, especially to his parents sometimes, I don't think he even deserves to be protected and instead deserves a horrible fate worse than death or something. But those are just my thoughts on the matter.
I have a better idea, have Gladys know that her son forced the Grim Reaper into eternal servitude as his best friend forever. She could ask Billy to liberate the master of the forces of life🌸 and death💀 , so he could return to his roots in reaping human victims from accidents, disease, or violence.

Which brings to question. How well do you think it'll go over if Billy or Mandy's parents were to die. After all, Harold is supposed to be dead already after choking to death on a corndog in the episode "The Halls of Time"
I mean its pretty clear that grim isn't actually willing to kill billy's mom, given he basically just stands there goes what the crap lady for 90% of whats going on. Pretty sure he was just trying to scare her into leaving him alone.

The first time I watched this fight between Grim and Gladys, I thought Gladys fought Grim because she was scared and freaked out for Grim for be a supernatural living skeleton.
1:40 to 1:41 Why was Grim inhaling and exhaling the smoke after sneezing the cans out of his eyes? 😂😂 Grim was almost gonna say who turned off all the lights when actually the lights were already turned OFF in the kitchen and he doesn't know that he is seeing darkness because of the cans stuck in his eyes. 😅😏

Honestly Gladys was a good mom. She just wanted to keep billy safe from the forces of evil however like every other mom she doesn't realize her son is a dumbass 😂

gladys are very inteligent, 1st weapon, have the house clean, it makes the injuries have more hard to survive inside, 2nd weapon (understand the room) know the possibilities as for example boil the water for sterilize, 3rd and decisive species it can help to food and done determinant needs of the body when feel bad lucky or not, gladys win the match!!
Looking back, I wonder if this was Maxwell Atoms way of sneaking in domestic violence. Grim is already sort of a father-figure to Billy, way more than Harold anyways. This would be even more unsettling if a latin dub of the episode still exists online, almost like a soap opera.
