@@dickteh8457 The Long War Project is a free fan made edition of 40k thats constantly being updated. Its an attempt by fans to create a system that captures the older editions but streamlined and balanced. Its writers are constantly writing and testing to develop with the community to improve it with periodic updates in response to feedback and testing. Its very much a mix of 5e, HH 1 & 2, and a little bit of 8e.
While it's totally awesome to play OPR games as (not)40k with our expensive 40k war dollies, I think the best strength of it is being able to use all your old armies from old games that might not exist anymore or may not be playable in your gaming environment due to lack of interest. ESPECIALLY if you have access to the army builder.
I would really love to see more Grimdark Future and Age of Fantasy battle reports. This game is so much fun! It really brought me back into the hobby. The games are swift and fun, I feel like I have more control over whats happening, and usually the games are thrilling and it comes down to the last couple of actions to see who wins - can't say that about other certain tabletop wargames out there! Onepagerules really gets going this year, it is really refreshing to see this positive development.
It’s just the OPR version of Killteam. Grimdark Future Firefight. With some additional campaign rules, like a marketplace of generic upgrades you can give to any unit, or rules for controlling territories. But the actual games play the same as any other game of firefight.
@@MrAndersonMusic056 if you go into the Grimdark Future Firefight army books you can see the Gangs of Hive City lists. If you want to play a stripped down Necromunda campaign then I would say that the Gang Wars supplement for Firefight definitely scratches that itch.
Blast is counted per shot, so yes, 3 Blast(3) shots against a squad of 3 will give you 9 shots. It got nerfed for being too good against single targets (it didnt have the number of shot limitation in the past)
Couldn't hit that like button fast enough. These games are such a breath of fresh air compared to the slog that is actual 40k. I love playing one page rules with my 40k minis.
Can’t believe you made that tail pipe shot! This game system rocks! Gorgeous looking armies and great looking table make for superb battle reports. Thanks for posting this!
"You put one of ours in the morgue; we put one of yours into space!" 😄 The Gamma Wolf Clade Tau look great. The King Crab Robo-tank is pretty cool too.
Nice one guys! I wonder why you are not using the awesome Army Forge printouts instead of the Army Books themselves? Makes finding the rules and stats for each unit/weapon a breeze...
Love the look of both armies, but the models used for the TAO fit that paintjob so well (not usually into that greenish/military look, but here it is great)
I like these rules a lot - I'll be playing this soon I hope, got some friends interested in having a go who played 40K way back when so this should be pretty simple for them to pick up.
So I may have missed your load out. But I heard you say you fired burst cannons and you rolled 2 6s on that shot. This would have triggered rending on your burst cannon and those shots would have resolved at AP4 and the robots wouldn’t have been able to use regen. I may have misread the dice in that shot or you may not have actually had burst cannons and I misunderstood your load out. But I wanted to point it out just in case you missed it. It could have saved the life of that suit later on.
Its 9 for the blast question. Each hit has blast 3, and ech hit cant surpass the number of models in a unit. Example: If you had 2 models in the unit, and he hit with 3 blast 3 attacks. Each hit would blast to the value of 2. For a total of 6. If you had 4 in the unit, those 3 hits would blast to their value of 3, and generate 9 hits.
Awesome video and great game, thanks for sharing! Could you give ma a hint where to get zhat awesome game mat you are playing on? Would be very appreciated!
I love how brutal it is without all the BS "arr actually on a _+ i don't die because I'm special" specials rules. It feels a lot more like being shot by sci-fi weapons should.
Been playing loads of this recently, great to bring out a wide range of armies without buying all the books…. Again… ❤ Firefight is also a fun game and very easy once you know the core grimdark rules
The way blast works, is it's 1 hit times the number in blast (X) to a max of 1 wound per model. So Blast 3 would still be 1 hit if targeting a single model. Getting 3 hits on a blast(3) would produce 9 wounds, but if the target squad only has say 5 units, only 5 wounds are applied, 1 to each.
Thanks for the batrep! Newbie here. May I ask 3 questions? 1. When a unit uses Return Strike in a Melee, does that use up their Activation for that round? 2. Regarding a Stunned Model, why would the attacker need to Push the victim's body anywhere? 3. Regarding Fatigue as per the Melee rules, are all units Fatigued after the first Melee of that Round, even if they themselves didn't Charge or Return Strike, thus then applying the 6 to hit rule for the rest of that Round? Thanks much!
Return strike does not use up their activation, but it does give the unit Fatigue. This means that for the rest of the round, they will only hit on 6’s in melee. A unit that does not make a melee attack does not get Fatigue, even if they are repeatedly attacked in melee.
@@bryanubaghs406 you’re welcome! I’m just getting into this system myself. It’s a very approachable game, but there are always some fiddly rules like that.
Games only , politics NO! Do not care who you are voting for. We do not need ANY talk of it here. 57 year old who has voted in over 13 elections till I realized they do NO GOOD. NO POLITICS with gaming EVER!!
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames The lore is being expanded quite a bit, but it hasn't been released yet. They have hired writers and illustrators to flesh it out.
