I found this song a few months after it first dropped randomly one day on RU-vid. At the time, I was going through a really messy and horrible close friendship breakup and the lyrics really resonated with me. I downloaded the song and played it over and over and over again. This video still holds such a special place in my heart ♥️ this song in particular really pulled me through a very tough time

This is a masterpiece. This is something so different. I listen to this several times a week.

Why do so many people think creating a pop song is "selling out"? The only way to sell out in music is to create lazy shit that misses its mark. This is the opposite of that. This is ambitious and addictive music, with aching, subtly hauting lyrics that reach out universally: in short, pop music at its best. And like all music at its best, this is HARD to pull off so well. This is like a sugary confection that's been burnt with a cigarette lighter, just at the edges. Listen closer. There's a darkness at the heart of this. If all contemporary pop sounded this good, I'd still be a mainstream radio listener.
