This part sees us going down Alexandra road, through town back down Dudley Street, Littlefield Lane, Lord Street, Newhaven Terrace and back towards home before running out of tape SEE MY OTHER UPLOADS ABOUT GRIMSBY
This still looks just as I remember it, after the 44 years since I left Grimsby in 1976 to Join the Army, NO DOUBT it has change a lot in those years BUT I am much Happier and Warmer in Sunny Essex. But yes each time I have returned I have need a new local Map to find my way about until I am on familiar ground like Freeman Street or Cleethorpes Prom or the Nunny Estate where I grew up.
The old bike shop and corner shop near the mariners which no longer exists, and look how tidy everywhere looks, when people took pride in their community, great times, thanks for this video.
Watching this makes me realise how time flys I was 19 then, not many cars on the streets either,Grimsby still does look the same part from its more scruffy, good times tho pubs were very busy.
There are others, one takes you by car from Nunsthorpe and a walk around the Riverhead Centre.. (If you’re younger than 30, That’s the small open air version of Freshney Place)
