I have a black n' decker grinder, and the lock button broke, the pin is still there but is not secured by anything so it dances around a lot when I turn the grinder on, i'm afraid it may lock the thing while is turned on and it destroys the gears and the motor. Can I get rid of the pin without too much negative concecuences?
This is very poor design. When the thing get's hot, the button softens, and lets the pin go. And the problem is not that the grinder locks up, but the gear breaks. The problem is not how to replace the pin, rather how to replace the gear.
