It’s powered by a single Siddeley Armstrong python turboprop. Wasn’t very good. Kept having problems with the throttle and accelerating, but it was dam fast, and the pilots loved the good visibility from the cockpit.
The earlier Wyverns were however, powered by single rolls Royce eagle 24 cylinder H-Block sleeve valve engine. Starting was by a shot gun shell / cartridge, like used on the venom, Seahawk, Canberra, B57, some F-100 super sabres, gloster javelin. Starting an aircraft in war thunder is not accurate to what it used to start in real life.
I love the wyvern... But it sucks as it is too good for it's BR, of you are a bomber a friendly wyvern steals the base you want to bomb, then a enemy wyvern blows your ass out of the sky with four 20mms while climbing at like 500kmh, I wish it was not fighting early-mid ww2 shit... Or had a tech tree counterpart
Any advice for the wyvern. I bought it because it sounds terrifying in Ground realistic battles. But I wanna get good with it in air realistic. I climb only to get Merced by people with ease, air rb is so sweaty it’s near impossible to even survive till the end
@@cideltacommand7169 In air rb I climb like crazy. Once I get up there I dive on alone targets. Miss pull back up, repeat, die to a p-47 or something on the climb. Any aiming advice? Wyvern turns like a truck so I play it like an American fighter
@@Aperson84782 you want to conserve your energy as much as possible, it's preferable to let them climb to you and don't waste all your energy on a single target unless they are close by. Use your speed to out climb turn fighters to where they will stall, then dive on them as they are recovering.
Nice video, piece of advice if you want it, I think you stay for too long in the line of fire on most head-on, like 80% of the clips you could have killed them anyways staying only for the first seconds of the beam and survived if you had pulled up (not down to avoid pilot snipes)
