"One of the greatest", said only by no one older than 19-20, at MOST. Treyarch was never very good, even back then, and they've certainly not gotten better by any means. I can give them WaW and BO1, but you're an actual dunce if you believe bo2 was/is good, let alone "greatest of all time". What, story mode? Trash. Forgettable at best. Hell, bo3 wasn't perfect by any means, but at least that story was more involved, interesting, and enjoyable than 2. MP? Oh, you mean a big portion of where corner camping started hard from? Where every 5y.o on their dads account sat with an LSAT with the target finder sight/that red thermal type of sight (forget the exact name). Yeah, considering only about 3 guns were used on average by anyone, with the exception of those like myself who ran around with any/everything, because I didn't need the "meta" to sit at the top of each match. Oh, and Zombies. Yeah, the only thing bo2 had that was any form of notable remembrance was Tranzit and Dise Rise. That doesn't mean they were good, but those are the most remembered maps. Tranzit was just utter dogshit, no matter what happened in/with that game. Map sucked, the face riders were one of the many nuisances that 3arc likes/liked to add to their overall shit zombies. Die Rise had the damn nova crawlers again which, no one liked in the first place, but 3arc dev's aren't exactly intelligent, so no surprise there. DMZ was fun when not fighting super sweats of the inevitable PC cheater •Mw3 re-"make"- Repeat of prior game, except story was pure shit. So even less worth. Oh, and "Zombies" but basically worse version of outbreak. Again, garbage. And, inevitably when bo6 comes out, since it hasn't yet, the likelihood it will also suck like typical cod titles of late, or just Bo titles in general, is very high. Bringing back what should be dead characters, set in some random time that this could've just been DLC, and what looks like a from-release, rehashed and reused Alcatraz for Z's, except with minor changes and some big, no doubt useless, cannon. Feel free to hate how that list looks, but it's simply just the truth. Unlike the majority of most cod players, I'm not 19 or under. I've played them all, except vanguard. That was just too bad for me to even waste time getting the achievements for it. But everything else, I put enough hours into it to test it, to give it a shot, and to either enjoy or dislike it. However, some things just aren't backed by opinion, they're backed by the fact the game itself plays like trash. It's the same effect that's happened with the Battlefield series of late. Once, it was good/great. Now, now it's a sad withering joke not even worth laughing at. And no, my take isn't based on purely nostalgia. The games themselves have literally downgraded in more ways than most of you (or the people who cant/wont see this) will likely ever know. Since many of yall are young/too young to have played back then, nor will you likely ever go back to. And even if so, it's not exactly a good example when nowadays, most of the older games are pack full of modders anyways, so the games are lost to time essentially. The gaming version of "nature" if you will. Cod these days is a cesspool of 3y.o screaming in the mic's, not even saying funny stuff, or even screaming racial remarks etc. That cause everyone to react either in laughter or shock. It's just kids who clearly live in places where it's clear that people don't replace the batteries in their smoke detectors, or that the parents are the "throw a tablet in the kids face and call it parenting" types. And for the occasional adults that do continue to play, it often I'd because family/friends play, usually younger ones, and or the people they know are on a separate platform, so game choice is still a bit limited these days. Overall, with the exception of 2019 and CW Z's, cod hasn't been good for awhile. Hate me all you like, but the truth isn't meant to be kind to your feelings.
Anyone that thinks BO2 is a bad game while statistically it is proven to be one of the best releases in the franchise is insane. I won’t argue with you but that is a insane take. If you think that defines a good game, boy you have much to learn. GTA V, one of the top 3 highest grossing games, yes, it has great parts. Yet look at it. Its 10 years old, and yet its playerbase has a large hate relationship with it due to a number of common issues and reasons. You aren't alone. I know typically some people get that nostalgic feeling and say they were too harsh on an old COD after years passed. For me though when this game was out I loved it. One of my favorite CODs. Had a whole lot of fun and just think the game is so good.

Ghost had a decent campaign, good multiplayer, incredible miltiplayer modes like Infested which had actual balancing, a cool take on an alternate game mode with the Alien Infestation... we never knew how good we had it until it was over

I actually always loved this game. When it first came out people were dogging it, i decided i would make my own decision so I bought the game. And I personally loved it. I had all the snipers golded, this was honestly the only call of duty I grinded.

Got ts for my 10th birthday back in 2014. The nostalgia i get from the music and just the overall atmosphere of the game is indescribable. The campaign for this game is also top 3 in the series imo.

This was absolutely one of the best Call of Duty’s ever made. People who hated it weren’t good at it. That’s why they hated it. This game started so many things that we consider a must in video games now. This game literally started peaking behind walls, sliding, customizing of your personal character, mounting, and much more. The game mechanics were awesome. Also I love the campaign story, how Latin America could become a super power and fight us, entirely possible and this game created a new enemy instead of using real enemies in real life and recycling them from new game to new game. Honestly Top 5 Call Of Duty for me.
Ghosts is better than pretty much everything that came after it, but the haters have some valid points. Black Ops 2 was the last CoD in the golden age. Ghosts was good but also a clear sign that the golden age ended. Maps were pretty bad and killstreaks were terrible. Guns were pretty fun and the hit detection was the best since MW2 2009, but it wasn’t enough to hook me on the game the way MW2-BO2 did, or CoD 4 and WaW for that matter. And no, I wasn’t bad at Ghosts. In fact, Ghosts was my best CoD game, stat-wise. I finally broke into the 2 KD club and felt confident in pretty much every match. But it lacked the X factor that the golden age CoDs had. However, I ultimately still remember Ghosts somewhat fondly as it was the last CoD I played for any significant amount of time.

I go in and out of Call of Duty depending on the year, whether i like the game or not. I never played BO2, Ghosts was the first one i got as a kid. This game gave me some of best memories ill ever have again on any video game and made me the player i am today. THANK YOU FOR THIS NOSTALGIA.
This games maps were so hard to see people and EVERYBODY besides actual skilled players just camped. It was a camp fest and hard to see people but it was still one of my favorites

If I knew this game would die eventually back in the day when I was just a kid.. I woulda played it daily.. My first ever Xbox live account on the 360 account got banned because I was using a mod menu I was infected with by a dude named Smokey. Random as shit but crazy I still remember that.. it happened like 10+ years ago
I still hold to this day that the Ghosts multiplayer would be considered great if it had better maps and killstreaks. I've always felt like the connection with the lobbys rarely lagged or had a bad connection, the guns were good, the hitreg was great and the TTK was exactly where it should've been. It also always felt unique to me. You could lean, interact with the environment on some maps, and it had a unique perk system based off of points and not a strict 3 slot system. If the perks weren't underwhelming and the maps were better designed (and some of them not be so massive), I think it would be remembered more fondly. I also liked the built in clan system the game had, that let you track your clan's rank and earn rewards for ranking up on the clan-based leaderboard. I think the game did a lot of good new stuff that they abandoned because the game just wasn't well received. The campaign was bad and Extinction was underwhelming, but MP had good potential. I heard the DLCs had some good maps, but I never found out because I didn't want to buy the Season Pass after how bad the base game maps were.
Cod ghosts was one of my favs, it literally was the Pinnacle for the transition between old and new cods, this cod was available on ps3 with a ps4 upgrade i remember
I had a lot of fun playing this and BO6 really doesn’t look “11 years improved” Nowadays COD feels more like work than having fun which is the exception for me the last 5-6 years. I used to use ghosts and BO2 as my morning routine before school, it would get me going. I wouldn’t dare play modern Cod games before anything important I’ll either be pissed and or exhausted after two matches.

I actually got this for my birthday when it came out, i got the whole package including a season pass. If this game wouldve come out after advanced warfare or wathever jetpack cod came out the year after this one, it would've been received so much better! I loved it tho, especially the extinction mode

Cod Ghosts gets way too much hate! This game had the best perk system, powerful guns and good hit detection! Some of the maps were pretty bad but this game is a masterpiece compared to AW and IW. Along with all the cods 2019 and after! MW3 is playable at least.
Exctintion was a super underrated mode, I feel like it was better then most zombies I played but then again this is coming from someone who always enjoyed the multiplayer over zombies and only BO1 and 2 are the only zombies I enjoyed

I think it’s one of the best, great guns, and the bots can play in ANY game mode, so that’s a massive improvement from the other games where you can just play tdm with them

But they should also have one against using the M27-IAR but I’ll take the anti camper one. Most people just leave the game if someone starts camping. Glad to see they’re still playing. Ghosts was a fun mix up, but I would’ve liked MW3’s spec ops with survival alongside the one with those aliens. Would’ve helped give some variety.
Ghosts was always good multiplayer. Excluding COD4 it was the best one and I will defend that. The progression, the weapons, the perk selections - it's just the best one.
Underrated entry in the call of duty lime up. This game was actually good, story was also pretty good and extinction was fun. The COD competitive scene was very active these times. OpTic had thete best team her but Complexity were the kimgs of Ghosts.
I never followed the hate train. I love ghost and it will always be my favorite matched with mw3. It made me a great competitive player for a 11 year old at-least. I do believe it was the best game that was tailor made for the MLG

those people camping with the M27 are the absolute bane of my existence. this game came out when i was 13 so i was young and cracked out being used to BO2 and just wanted to run around as fast as i could, but it seriously felt like i couldn’t take 4 steps in this game without getting killed by a guy camping in a corner with a thermal M27
Watching this late bc i just got off work. Sorry dude. Love ur stuff as always. Running stealth smg and learning the map flow in this game is the way 2 go. Otherwise campers ruin ur day. The fast TTK means you can pop off rlly good or die rlly quick. Having both high kill streaks and high death streaks are common (even in the same game).
Ghost was one of the greatest Competitive games in the entire franchise, wasn’t a huge fan of Pubs because most of the maps that weren’t in comp were dog water, but I absolutely loved the comp game mode

In my memories I can’t remember myself enjoying this game. I played it quite much but only mixed emotions I can recall in my mind. From this COD on I gave up this game series. They’re not obviously bad, but not my thing anymore. Customization in this game killed confrontation between different factions. And now we aiming enemies by an orange/red nickname above their heads. What a shame. In MW3 they simply merged with background due its SERIOUS color scheme, so here besides of that all player skins are basically same as your teammates’ ones. Btw, Xbox version game looks noticeable better, than for PS3.
I’m one of the few people who will admit they love this game. And honestly the only hate I’ve seen about it was about that Stonewall map and the fish AI, which is dumb.
COD Ghost had its problems that is agreed upon, its main reason for why it was not as loved was that it wasn't BO2. Maps were good except a few and thats because they were just too big for that amount of players were in the lobby. Most players didn't like the fact that it didn't have very many 3 lane maps. If it was 3 lanes, it had quite a bit of verticality and objects to block certain Lines of sight. Camping was a problem, but that was manly thanks to the color scheme of most maps, and the introduction of the lean mechanic. Ghost tried alot of new things, many customization options, cool DLC, game modes like the bot squads vs bot squads and cranked. Was it the best COD? No. Was it certainly the worst? Absolutely not. Was BO2 the best COD? No. Yet was the hype overrated for Ghost which gave a bad review? Absolutely. We can also factor in, that Ghost and BF4 came out at relatively the same time and after playing BF4 with all of its gimmicks, add-ons, and so forth; Ghost did not stand a chance. Advanced Warfare was good but people trashed it because they wanted to have BO2 part 3. I liked AW, I just didn't like the gambling for cosmetics and weapons mechanic. AW had a way better campaign than BO2...hell even Ghost had a better campaign than BO2. Its all preference, and youre never gonna please everyone. All I know, is if you think BO1 was a good multiplayer, youve been touched with the tism.
