I’ve been using this griots foam/polygloss combo for awhile now. Absolutely love it. The best part about polygloss is it’s anti-static properties. My car stays dust free far longer than if I were to apply a wax/sealer by hand.
Man I have been waiting for this one!! Haha this is a 2 thumbs up LEGIT setup. That Poly Gloss is insane. I literally was just looking at that drying towel in the new monthly Griots catalog I got Haha. Awesome review FAB!!! 👌👍✊
Great review! I love using Poly Gloss when I'm pressed for time. I wonder if anyone else does this trick since I don't see any videos on it... 🤔 With this product in particular since you don't really need a drying aid, try disconnecting the hose from the pressure washer and running free flowing water over the whole vehicle. This takes 95% of the water completely off the panels cutting drying time down to seconds with hardly any surface contact. I actually do this every time I wash any of my vehicles even if I plan on using a drying aid. Its extremely effective with the Poly Gloss.
Nice review FAB! If you're in my neighborhood I'll be in my crawl space relocating the discharge line for the sump pump. There are no spiders I promise!! Do What You Do FAB. HOOF OUT
I really like how the cannon can attach right to the bottle! That poly gloss is exactly what I'm looking for to provide some easy protection to my travel trailer. Great video!
Daytona 5.7 Man PolyGloss would be perfect for your travel trailer! I’ve also heard it works great on the exterior of the house like windows and siding. Thanks brother
That is the best kit from Griots, price is excellent for all that they include. We did use their iron remover direct to their cannon, works great to foam the surface. Can do same for engine cleaner. That towel can hold up to 7-pounds or a bit more. Is this the best cannon, no, but it does a great job and quality build. And in the kit price, a smart buy. Disclaimer: I attend Autogeeks Roadshow class last summer in Griots facility and with Mike Phillips teaching and the GG staff. I bought the kit last October.
I agree! It’s not the best cannon but very high quality made. I have heard that’s a good class. I took a class at the Griot’s Manufacturing and distribution facility here in Indianapolis a few years ago with Jeff Brown. It was a very informative class.
Foaming surface wash is honestly one of the best matiance soap on the market atm, barley dont need to agitate it ACTUALLY removes the dirt off the panel, it gets the surface about...95% clean without contact wash. At 50 bucks a gallon it's worth it.
I have found a product from Superior Detailing named Rage that you can use it as a pre wash just like the Griots surface wash. It is efficient and effective just have to go to your local Orielys and have them order for you. It only costs 30$ a gallon and with a dilution ratio of 4:1 It's perfect in my own world.
Great Video Brian. I've been on the fence for this product/kit for a while, but now I'm sold. Plus Griots has the kit on for 149 (foam cannon, wash , poly gloss & towel)
Griots is my personal favorite line of products. However I do try MANY other products and use things like VRT on my tires as I don't particularly care for Griots tire stuff. Nice review 👍✌️🇺🇸
FAB Automotive Detailing no problem buddy. Your an awesome inspiration to me! Your channel and tips have helped me out a lot! Thanks for what you do outside of your main job to help others.
Thanks for the video. I have a boss cannon, but I’m curious, what psi and GPM is your electric power washer? I don’t seem to have the same results you have.
Erix7810 I have a Karcher K1700 pressure washer. 1700 PSI and 1.2 GPM. Water quality has a lot to do with foam. Hard water really hurts the foam. I bought an RV water filter from Walmart and it really helped my foam. It just screws onto the garden hose. Also make sure the knob is all the way to the negative side.
Great video Fab! I am also super impressed with these two products. I have been using them for about 6 months and can say I wont wash with out them. I use Adams detail spray as a drying aid and then a coat of Bead maker. It has been so good on my Black Town car that I have not applied the ceramic coating I purchased yet.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing I also use Griots air powered foam gun with their wheel cleaner..that air gun puts out shaving cream foam that just sits and dwells the brake dust to where it pressure washes away..
Nice demonstration! Which foam cannon do you recommend I buy? The Boss or the Brilliant finish model. Also which model Karcher pressure washer did you buy? I want same setup👍🏼
FAB I have a couple questions. Would the Poly Gloss be good to use after using a wax or detailer to extend the protection? And do you have to dry the wash before using the poly? I am getting a kit soon. Thanks!
Good video! What gun are you using? I'm having a hard time finding a hose and short gun that will work with my electric pressure washer. I have one that works with my gas pressure washer but it will not work on my new AR electric one. Thanks!! 👍👍
FYI A pressure washer featuring a minimum of 1.8 GPM flow and 1,100 psi or 1,980 CU (Cleaning Units = gpm x psi) is required for the cannon to function as intended. Warning: Check to ensure the tool is compatible with your pressure washer’s operating specifications. Must not exceed the maximum pressure, flow, and temperatur
I appreciate this information. I have seen this pressure washer produce thick foam on other videos. The water where I live is extremely hard and I think that has a lot to do with it. Regardless the foam is good enough for me and works as intended.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing I will double check with a couple of detailing places we have here in Toronto. Really enjoy watching your video you have made me stop buying chemical guy products and I switch to I’m really enjoying these griot’s garage products thanks for your videos
Should have gotten the SunJoe SPX-4000 pressure washer... I got mine 2 weeks ago on sale at Wal-Mart for $120. I feel it would do a lot better than that Karcher since it's selectable PSI and 1.7 gpm
RCFlyer85 I watched all of Obsessed Garage’s pressure washer series videos. The Karcher K1700 was by far the best as far as pressure and actual GPM other then obviously Kranzle. I’m really happy with it and it cost about the same as the Sunjoe. In fact you can find it on sale sometimes for $99!
It looks like you switched pressure washers again. Can you tell us why you are no longer using the Ryobi and what is this new yellow washer you are now using?
Well the original electric Ryobi crapped out just shy of a year so I returned it and got the gas unit. I love the gas pressure washer but it’s to loud for videos and has to much power to wash cars. So I kept the gas for around the house and bought a Karcher k1700 that was recommended by Matt Morman at Obsessed Garage. I really like this Karcher. It’s quiet and has just enough power for washing cars.
How do you like those tire things that keep the hose from getting hung up? Are they worth it? By the way, I hear the flag And I see the fish. Respect .
Ed Gordon The Detail Guardz work great if you can remember to use them. I seem to forget half the time but they do help get the hose around the car without getting stuck. Thank you! 🇺🇸
You can find them in my Amazon store there is a link in the description of the video. If not it’s the Karcher K1700 pressure washer, Uberflex 50ft Hose and MTM SG28 wand.
I bought a hose with 3/8 fittings. Some pressure washers you can’t do it unfortunately. If you look in my Amazon store I have the hose, wand and fittings needed.
There's always adapters to get the setup you want. I bought a short gun that came with 2 wand extensions and the adapter I needed for my SunJoe pressure washer
Great video man! So, I am in the market for an electric pressure washer as well. I tried to watch the Obsessed rundowns but I was sort of lost. How do you like your setup? I see you have everything in your Amazon store. Would you change anything? Asking before I order the exact setup. Thanks, man! 🙏🏼
I really like my setup. I bought it because of Matt’s videos. Its quiet and has just enough power to get the job done. It’s nothing but plastic but the pump is what matters and it works great. I like the MTM SG28 a lot but wish I would have bought the swivel. That would be the only thing I would change.
Hey brian have u tried these both in your mtm yet?? I use these both all the time and its amazin i dont even do contact wash anymore unless its really neccesary... the polygloss is proven best product wax and wash product on the markey...
FAB Automotive Detailing why dont you have an mtm? Autofanatic in ny i watch him all the time actually phil and have become friends and i trust everything he does with cars!! I had some cheap foam cannon before i watched him and now i the foam i get from the mtm is amazing i wont use any other!!
Try using Rage from Superior Detailing. All you have to do is order it from your local orielys for $30 a gallon. It's a damn good product to use for a pre wash.
Did you say what this setup would cost, if you did I missed it 🤷♀️😜. I will have try to get this one. I like my cheap one, but I like the fact you can use the bottle of theirs instead of mixing.. And not use half the bottle.. Something else to save for 😅😂.. How did the blue hose work out for ya?
about 3 minutes in as the details got started, were swapping out a 1.1 mm something for some reason that wasn't explained, not sure what or why you were swapping something out, why it's necessary, or if all parts included.
Tom W5VLT Sorry I wasn’t more clear. If you have a low gallons per minute pressure washer you swap the 1.2mm orifice with a 1.1 to get better foam. Most electric pressure washers need the 1.1. It comes with this foam cannon but not all foam cannons come with the orifice.
It was a combination of water quality and pressure washer at my old house. Now I get very thick foam with the BOSS system and the new house and upgraded pressure washer.
I may try it with my gas pressure washer but foaming is determined by GPM not PSI. I bought the electric because the gas was to noisy for making videos.
Buddy i hate to burst the bubble but get rid of the metering system and just go traditional in a mtm cannon you will achieve greater foam and bonding properties i use this surface wash all the time..
He has really really hard water. It's hard to achieve shaving cream foam. The karcher blew away his previous electric power washer as far as foam goes.
These products were sent to me for free to try! Yes MTM is great but it wasn’t sent to me to try. Like 4DoorSi said this is the best foam I have ever gotten. Our city water is extremely hard and foaming just isn’t very good with it. I’m just the best I can with what I have.
