Great information Jedd. Platinum standard gripper from Cannon PowerWorks (due to drop in July) may help fill that gap between a CoC #2 and #2.5 for folks that are interested.
I thought at the beginning you could get by with just a few grippers I had a T, 1", 2" but now have 8 grippers and two no. 2 and two 2.5 a lighter no. 2 and a heavier one and a lighter no. 2.5 and a heavier 2.5 and it has helped a lot in training as there are shorter steps upwards all the time. It's a big step from a light #1 to a heavy #2 for a beginner and I got a 1.5 and got hold of a light #2 and definitely got easier working up to my heavy #2 and then to the lighter 2.5. Now I'm close to closing the heavy 2.5 and after that I have to get hold of a light No. 3 the one I have is a bit tough. Great fun with the gripper and training just for fun but think #3 should go for next year.
Hi Jedd, When I train other bigger lifts and even accessories, I tend to like Reverse Pyramid Sets and Drop Sets. Curious if you’ve used these methods for gripper training? I am using the Baraban and also have a few CoCs, but I am primarily focused on the Baraban because I’m working on grip strength for grappling and am not too concerned for competing. Having the ability to quickly adjust makes drop sets easy, though I was wondering your thoughts on if these types of intensity methods with grippers may carry too much injury risk, or if you think they can be done responsibly?
If you're strength on Grippers is going up and, more importantly, strength in grappling, then I would say your methods are working, but no, I haven't ever used those methods for grippers.
@@gripstrength you think so? I like mine a lot probably don’t do much for you but, keeps my forearms toned and conditioned I get a good swell after about a hundred reps. You think the coc is better though?
@@chauncey5962 I think the egg is good for a pump, for recovery, for endurance, but does next to nothing for building actual grip strength. I'm the case if crushing, yes, grippers are far far far superior
Weird. I know my tag on here is @gripstrength now. But that happened automatically because I never modified it and it defaults to what you're RU-vid url is.
