GRIS Walkthrough. 100% Achievements Guide + Secret Scene

I think the games interpretation could go either way; In one POV;; it's the Mother that died and its the Daughter that's going through the pains of losing someone so close to her. Collecting the memories of her Mom and remembering her piece by piece. The Eel / Bird / Mirror Image could be all the emotions of grief in one, becoming this blinding heavy mass of sludge that tries to bring, GRIS down at every turn. In the other POV;; it's the Daughter's that's died and the Mother goes through the grieving process, remembering her daughter and crying for her in the end but accepting that she's loss her star and that she has to let her go. The Eel is possibly that mass of 'don't let her go' yet in the end she has too because she was falling apart the more she tried to deny herself that ability to grieve for her daughter's death. The singing in the end imo; is just that - the pair of them accepting each others life/death and GRIS ascent to the stars, could mean for the Mother letting her go finally - with the she cried one last tear and the way she moved her arm towards the tower. // And how GRIS can finally move on from her Mother's death one last kiss and hug before continuing on her way forward and on with her life. I know I'm late but it's such a beautiful game.

The eel achievement really sucks, so here is what helped me To complete this challenge, the trick here is not to spam the dash button. You only need to press it once per bite to escape. The thing you need to know is that there are two variations of the bites: 1. When the eel does a fast bite, like the one at 1:34:18, you don't need to press anything, as those bites don't hurt you. 2. When the eel does a slow inhale bite, like the one at 1:34:22, the eel opens its mouth and starts to inhale, look at the jaws. They will move/partly close after the inhale, and then the bite will occur. The jaw movement is your cue to press the button. That way, you'll be able to dash away from its bites. Notes: -You know you've failed if you see Gris spin around after the slow inhale bite. -It doesn't require quick reflexes, but it will require you to pay attention. -Pressing the dash button too early will also result in Gris getting bitten. -The bite at the jumpscare (1:37:02) doesn't count, so no need to worry about that part. -As shown in the video, you'll get the achievement after the turtle saves you. -Too quickly restart, quit to menu and hit continue, instead of loading the chapter (95% of the credit of this comment goes to Neofall) Good luck! :D

This game only gave me two hours to get invested and yet, here I am, sobbing into my fucking sweater sleeve over how beautiful this game and its story is.

My father died in march. Watching this made me cry really hard. I could relate to Gris completely. Thank you for posting this, that was an amazing walkthrough.

This game is heavily underrated, from the art to the music and the story, everything is beautiful, is truly a masterpiece, I wish it had more recognition.

I've been watching a bunch of playthrough of Gris in search of some guidance. You're the only one I've seen unlock Denial, which is weird. It never crossed my mind to go back that way when I started

I had to restart the game twice because I was missing stuff following other "guides". I'm glad I found you. Well done.

I might have a different interpretation after having seen the secret : [Spoilers of course] . . . . if tragedy struck, it wasn't the mother who was lost but the daughter. During the game it's the mother we rebuild, and at the end, the daughter who walks into the heavens...

I could not help but cry with that emotional ending, incredible gameplay friend, good video.

I see how this game could have so many different interpretations, I definitely feel the strongest about the mother (died)/ daughter (grieving) idea. I was also thinking what if it was a loss of innocence and then finding your voice again after trauma. I feel like all those statues were definitely the older woman going through the different stages of grief, and “Gris” was putting her back together again after she shattered. Gris had to fight to to find the way to put the pieces back together and had to pick up mementos or good memories along the way. She had to find a way to push back against the grief and even made some friends along the way that helped her when it got really rough or it almost seemed like she was going to be swallowed whole by her sadness. Just another interpretation to throw into the mix, either way one of the most beautiful pieces of art I’ve ever been lucky enough to witness❤️

its the 5 stages of grief so the statues are her mum and she died and this is her mind going through the struggles of having to cope with it all.

2:21:15 lovely song fantastic game even though there's sorrow but it's like seeing art magically come to life if you keep believing there's always hope for the future so the 5 stages of grief, the statues are her mother somehow died (cancer or Illness) and this is the girls mind going through the struggles of having to cope with it all in the end the girl sends her mother spirit free into the heavens stars to move on and be happy, she walk to the stars and awakens from her dream

You have the best guide for this ☺️ I was able to find the missing mementos I didn’t get during the game. I was missing 8 and I had no idea. I found that room and was super confused I had no idea the game tells you how many you find and I got that eel one it was giving me the most trouble I didn’t know I could just quit out if I messed up 🥴 which I did like 8 times and this helped so much. Made the game that much more special to me. Thank you a ton!! 😌

they promote this game as being free of fear but that bird at 1:00:45 when i was playing it for the first time made me SCREAM it caught me so off guard 😭

Thank you very much for the guide. I don't think I would have tried 100%-ing the game without one. For some of the achievements a timestamp when they are completed would have been helpful. For example I thought I had failed Eel and simply gave up but received the achievement after the next save point. Kinda evil. I'd like to contribute the timestamps for the chapters which might be useful for people who only need some things and don't know where to start best.
