Tbh at a certain time in hip hop a lyricist catering to the radio wasn’t as hot. Conway a part of a new emergence of underground/mainstream hip hop so his music is more so of a feeling people miss or kids didn’t get to experience.
Let artists be artists. I don't like the idea of telling a painter what paint color to use for their art. Either wait for them to produce something mainstream organically or accept them for who they are or move on to someone else.
well said, some people want them to move outside of boom bap and do commercial shit and im like let them make grimey rap it works every time, if every new album had beats by darringer i wouldn't even trip.
I know people say Griselda is a big call back to old school hip hop, but i think its in the spirit because i have yet to find songs in the Wu Tang inventory that sounds anything like "Ric Martel" or "Westmania 2.0"
When I first heard "Gods Don't Bleed", that shit immediately took me back to that era, specifically some Wu-Tang shit. And the "Wrestlemania 20" track kinda reminds me of RZA's "Grits" feat. Masta Killa. Not exactly like it, but the overall vibe.
They say that because they either haven't heard hard drums over a sample in mad long or they're too young & didn't live through those years. None of those Daringer beats sound like something RZA or Havoc produced but I can hear the influence if that makes sense. They're too slow to be compared to boom bap beats from the early to mid-90's.
That track he talkin bout Conway featuring Mary J Blidge and Jeremih... It's actually on YT right now... Definitely woulda been a smash on some old B.I.G type shit
I'll be 40 in 3 weeks. After Drake, Kendrick and Cole I pretty much don't listen to anybody heavily after like 2012 or so. A couple of Baby records, a Da Baby record, YNW Melly murder on my mind and a couple of others, but nothing I play ton. No Blueface, YGB (?) Duck, King Von, Furk. Moneybaggs etc. I can't do it, so when these guys dropped it took me back to the 90's and I am from NYC which is where these guys sound like they are from. I can see why HOV wanted them to stay together.
I feel like the first time I heard bang with Em it was just Conway and Em.Then I heard a version with Benny and WSG,but there's also another version were Em has a wilder verse dissing more ppl direct that's floating around.
I think he referring to the CANT you see record not being sample…it’s a king combs track now I was at the behind the scenes ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-quujwb__qjM.html
Im ready to hear some rhymes. Can you end your show with beatboxing and freestyle rappers at the end... do the beat boxing so you won't get copyright ding..find the illest beat boxer.. done!
You foreal? Well what about Mach-Hommy that's the most versatile and dopest out of Griselda to me. You might fuck with that word life it's definitely worth it.
@@burningspliffs dude definitely trolling bra .. or could just be an opinion.. I can respect it but anybody who says they trash or whatever most likely they favor rapper is lil mabu so they not credible in my eyes
Saw Kane maybe a year ago in VA. Dude skills sharp as ever. Cadence, flow ,breath control, stage presence was impeccable. Left the stage in a leather all white mcm trench!
Big Facts!!!! Big Daddy can was the first hiphop superstar to me. He became my bar, my prototype emcee. He was Jay before Jay to help visualize. Kane could take photo in the hood and then be in a photo with Hollywood Stars and It felt like he took us into those places. I feel the same about Jay.
If it bleeds it can be killed is my favorite album by this young mc. Him Rome Streetz,38,Rigz,Flee Lord,Stove God,Pounds 448,Boldly James and Fred the Godson made me believe in hip-hop again. They stick to the script. Bars and beats, boom bap original rap
Math Hoffa: why didn’t that Eminem feature happen? Conway: I got the Eminem feature Everyone: Definitely no expert if you didn’t know that man already had a verse from Em 😂
AI has the potential to change the sample game, I played aorund with Jukebox AI, I ran some loops through it, it can generate its own veriation of any sample and you can add a flavor of any genre to it...but right now the output has alot of static and it takes almost an hour to generate.
