Normally I would stay under the D bar so the splash is easier to control but the customer asked so he could check the welds as he's planning on repainting the green later this year I wasn't trying too hard but it turned out ok haha
A little tip to try when a video is playing not the adds but the video go top right the cog icon and go to advanced settings pitcher quality then pick 4k I believe its the top 1 😊 👌 give it a second to filp over and their you are in glorious 4k 60fps 🤩
You've the grit of a Spartan, Mick - I'd go off my rocker before I'd got half-way. Plus my arms would have fallen off from holding the hose. People go "Ohh - that looks right easy..." It is, yeah. Easy to watch.. :-)
@@Mobileblaster The tiny, ickle, toytown bit of blasting I do here at work, I'm a pool of sweat after 10 minutes, my arms are ready to get up & leave, I have grit in every orifice the sun don't shine on plus the face-shield/visor thingy is already so battered from grit coming back at it, it's like looking through a lemonade bottle. :-) This stuff ^ is not for cissies.
Nice job on the boat.! Now do thay just paint what you sandblast or do thay sand on top of what you done. To make more smooth or is it good enough just to paint.? And how many coats do thay put on.?
All thats needed now is to blow the serface dust off and paint the profile left is perfect for paint 👌 I could be wrong but I believe they do 2 coats of primer and 2 top coats this is going to be painted with 2 pack Epoxy
About time that you fixed a few pieces of your broken equipment: the valve handle on your compressor and the dead man’s switch on the nozzle. Otherwise, really interesting to watch. Amazing how it cleans.
😊 I've just done the trigger but I have some old footage that needs uploading so it may seem like it's still broken 👌👍 the valve isn't like any other handle I have (I've loads of spares just not 1 to fit that) some days it opened and closes with 1 hand but some days it's stiff as 😬 I've also done quite a few repairs to the pot and pipes yesterday hopefully I won't have any more issues for some time 🤞😊
Really enjoy these videos, I have to ask does the bottom ever get done or just the sides? I own a 30 sailboat that I have done the bottom on a few times so Just wondering
Hi, this may be a silly question.. but why isn't the finish all uniform in colour? I have done minor sandblasting of rust on cars (non-professional) and the area is always uniform grey?
How many kg of medium does it take to do a typical boat like that ?... Very mesmerizing and satisfying to see it come up so clean.... Good content keep up the good work 💪
Hey Mick, big fan of watching your videos here in the states. Do you ever have to blast aluminum, concrete, bronze, wood, or any other materials like that or have you made your way and found a good niche of doing hard steel equipment? It seems like the growth and "money" is in specialty areas. I bought a 2009 Doosan xp375 wir and a Clemco pot set up just to clean my own equipment and trailers with sand but find myself getting more interested in testing the different media and substrate to find marketable services. Blasting cement has become quite profitable as is blasting bronze plaques and statues. Graffiti and paint removal aren't bad either but you can just fire it up and start destroying things. If you get the chance, can try to post some of the more delicate jobs out there, even if you have set it up yourself.
Thankyou glad you enjoying the videos I have hunders of videos on hear pal of all types of blasting I take on what ever is profitable to my business wether that be houses cars trucks industrial what ever 😁 subscribe to be notified of my latest work 😏👌👍
Sponsors?? Lol its a XL 850 I could do with xl 950 to make the most of the air available very hard to get hold of but its not the nosel that's speeding things up its the 425cfm 8bar compressor that's doing the speed the long nosel only adds reach it don't add any more power 👍 although its my favourite style nosel 👌
what size nozzle and hose do you use? i just picked up a pull behind air compressor thats 185 cfm at 150psi it was a dustless blasting rig..im building my own pot i have not been able to find out the best nozzle for what i got.
My nozzle size and pipe won't help you. You need a 550 (#5) and turn the psi down to 125 aiming for 100psi at the nozzle 👌👍 pipe size will very on your workload longer is going to need bigger od etc
@@Mobileblaster thanks for the reply 1 last thing the air supply hose from the compressor to the blast pot itself what size hose do you think would work best? all piping and ball valves are going be 1 inch.
@mrsmooth420productions5 it will be fitted with 19mm 3/4" from factory 3 ports or 2 more likely 3 ports 20m 19mm will be ample from compressor to pot then upto 40m 1 1/4" blast pipe with 550 nozzle. 19mm is good for around 260cfm you can fit bigger but ya will be wasting money 👍
@@Mobileblaster thanks for all the info your the one that got me into this. ive sandblasted in the past but never as a job but im now slowly building my rig ive got everything but the hoses and nozzle and dead man switch setup witch ill be using a electric ball valve and a on and off switch till i have enough for a true setup...i would love to see your truck setup i already have a box van that i can use. so if already made a vid about it please link it if not i would love too see one in the future. im in usa cali and there is no one that offers this within 200 miles from me so i know i will do well my local boat yard uses grinders to strip there boats so thats the first stop i go after my rig is dilled in and i figure out pricing. thanks again for replying ive been trying to figure it out for 2 months now.
you actually move the head to fast your work is good but would come out even better if you just slowed down slightly or went over some of your work no disrespects
Yeah I get that I can get white steel but this adds cost to a job that doesn't require that finish SA2 is generally whats required to repaint I achieve SA2.5 or better. If I did white steel it would cost 2 to 3xs as much then I've to try and explain the extra cost for something they don't need 👌 it's a tricky 1 as my head says make it white steel but to be profitable business and competitive on price us as operators have to draw that line
