I LOVE Aldi. I live downtown Detroit and the stores near us are so expensive (Whole Foods). I drive 15 minutes to an Aldi and save so much money. I’m also gluten free and they have so many great gluten free options. I get a gluten free take and bake pizza every week!

The carnitas are amazing!!! Here's my handy Aldi tip, I put a laundry basket or two in my trunk and pack my groceries in there. Makes it easy to get it all in the house. 😊 Happy shopping!!

Great tip I even suggest maybe putting two bungee hook type cords but like the heavy duty ones and put it on each side to lift the basket out the car without having to do too much pulling then you can drag it in the house 😂😂😂😂

the aldi pizza dough is amazing! keep it in the freezer and take it out the night before. and a suggestion for the carnitas roast is to sear it in a pan afterwards for some crispy bits.

Our air conditioner went out Monday. I made a charcuterie tray for the 3 of us for dinner from Aldi. Stove was not an option. 87 degrees outside and 80 inside. The tray was so very good. My 93 year old dad lives with us now and he is a super fan when I make these trays. He really is a Chow-Hound. 🙂 I have a small light in my room and will look up and it's 2 am. I got caught up in a book. My husband is worse than me if he is comfy on the sofa and a cup of coffee.

Regarding the cheese fries-halloumi is a firm, salty cheese that you can heat up and it doesn’t melt! So it looks like the “fries” are breaded sticks of that cheese 👍🏻 I love Aldi too!

The pizza dough is excellent! I usually dig to the bottom of the box and look for one thats still frozen and then chuck it in the freezer at home for an "emergency" pizza w a long dated block of mozzarella and a jar of pizza sauce and whatever toppings I have hanging around. You can't really refreeze the ones that are thawed, though (I learned the hard way)

Hi Mindy, regarding cilantro, or as we call it here in the UK coriander, it has been proved by scientists that it is not just a case of liking or not liking the herb, but is actually a chemical in our body that decides. For those of us who HATE the dread stuff it is because the chemical makes it taste like soap. So it is not anything to do with our taste buds, and trying to get us to try it again because we might like it now, does not, and never will work. I am luck that my partner of 23 years hates it as much as I do. Much love and respect from South East England. xx PS. It is roughly 50% of the worlds population that does not like the stuff, but ratios vary in different parts of the world.

I’ve always loved cilantro and found out from Ancestry DNA that supposedly I inherited the gene for hating cilantro. Maybe the gene mutated with me, maybe Ancestry DNA is wrong or maybe I oddly like the taste of soap? That sounds weird until I remember loving the taste of the adhesive on envelops as a kid. I would always volunteer to lick them

Is it something you can stick in the crockpot? How do you cook it?

@@dalayneygirl8059 Yes! You just throw it in the crockpot for about 5-6 hours and it's fall apart delicious. It's preseasoned in a marinade so it's ready to go. The BBQ one is also good done the same way but for pulled pork sandwiches. Great for nights where you don't have a lot of time for dinner. We shred the Carnitas after it's done and throw it on some shells with all the basic taco toppings and I've even made some great taco bowls out of it. :)

I eat gluten free and these are my fave Aldi options: - the live gfree brownie mix is out of this world delicious - no one will know it’s GF - the live gfree wraps - I use this in place of tortillas and for my egg rolls - live gfree sandwich bread - guacamole packs - they stay fresh longer so I find I don’t throw out avocados as much buying these - carton of egg whites - a great price - the simply nature freeze dried strawberries - I put these over two crumbled chocolate rice cakes to make my own cereal - simply nature coconut cashew crisps in vanilla and chocolate - I like to crumble these over a yogurt for a delish treat - their tzatziki sauce - love this over rice and leftover shakshuka - my hubby loves their pretzel slims and simms zero sugar spicy jalapeño smoked sausages for his snack - lifeway blueberry kefir - this is good on its own or added to a smoothie for a probiotic kick - frozen avocado, pineapple and mango for smoothies + a bag of their spinach

Aldi’s off brand fruit loops are my Absolute favorite! they taste original, the real fruit loops are too sugary and too much dye. And it has a very weird powder on it. As an autistic mama to an autistic daughter we need safe foods so we don’t go hungry and I’m happy to say that Aldi has been a life saver for us ❤️

Hello from Germany. The Peanut Puffs are a regular thing in the snack section in Grocery Stores in Germany, not only in Aldi but in Lidl, ReWe, Edeka ... So chances are good, they will become a regular thing in Aldi in the States as well

I just HAD to try that yummy Carnitas roast! I LOVE Aldi but I don't buy all of my groceries there because they don't take checks and that's how I pay for my groceries. I REFUSE to use plastic unless I absolutely have to. I don't remember how big my roast was but it was $4.50 and I added some black beans, some chopped jalapeno and chopped onion along with the last of some Pico de Gallo and made Enchiladas with it! So good and it has a bit of a bite to it! Thanks for a great idea! Very simple and very good!!!! I'll post this on my FB page with a link back to this video!

The peanut puffs are definetly a staple in every german snack aisle(the brand name of the puffs is literally german kitchen^^). I can see them easily get a regular spot in the US Aldi shelves, when I take into account how much peanut flavored stuff you guys seem to have over there😂

ALDI is a staple for me to shop at! It's a blessing to have one only a few blocks from my apartment, especially when I was living off of the small grad student salary I had last year and couldn't afford to shop anywhere else.

Give the cheese fries a go! These are often offered as a side dish in the UK, like mozzarella sticks but because halloumi is a hard cheese that doesn't melt, they don't need to be covered in breadcrumbs to stay together. Halloumi also makes a great burger patty alternative for vegetarians as you can grill it without it melting.

I recently started shopping much more at Aldi. I started with the produce, then the cheese, then snacks and freezer items. Pub pretzels are a favorite. I love Aldi for carving board lunch meats and sliced cheeses for the large family size subs. So much fun and delicious. Yes I'm a book reader as well. I can't ever retrieve the sleep hours I've lost being immersed in a good book but so worth it. Love the seasoned pork shoulders.

ALL of the Live G Free (gluten free) products are delicious! The egg rolls and the little chicken bites (regular or General Tso's chicken) are great in the air fryer! I haven't tried a Live G Free item I didn't enjoy. Occasionally they sell gf pot stickers and those are delicious too! I have served the pot stickers, egg rolls, chicken and home made fried rice to non gluten free people and there were no leftovers lol

Aldi had great vegan products too. They have a vegan line called earthgrown. I always get their tofu, cauliflower “cheddar” crackers, almond/oat milk, vegan proteins (nuggets, burgers, meatballs) and they have lots of specialty vegan products around holidays and random times throughout the year.

I shop at Aldi weekly. It is my favorite grocery store even though I am surrounded by several massive grocery chains. The prices are generally lower for their store brands but the reason I really love Aldi is the small store footprint. I can get my items off my list, get checked out, and be done is record time. I am not wandering through the aisles of a huge grocery store to get 20 items.

We LOVE the aldi pizza dough! Used it for bbq chicken pizza and calzones already. My hubby says it's got just the right amount of "chew" and crispness to it. You fry up those pieces...it's haloumi cheese... it browns up and softens but doesn't melt. It's like a grilled cheese type of thing. .remember keto means no breading

I was at Aldi (NYC) last week and found GF English muffins and chocolate glazed donuts. We loved the muffins and my son devoured the donuts. GF donuts are hard to come by. They also make a sweet chili multigrain GF chip that is a dupe for the sweet chili doritoes.

I sure would love to see an Aldi in Anchorage Alaska where I live. We shop a lot at Walmart and I’ve been purchasing a lot of store brand items. We really haven’t noticed a difference in most things as far as taste. Sometimes we do get things that we just don’t like, but we make note of that and don’t buy it again. It saves a lot of money during these times of extreme inflation.

I get all kinds of items at Aldi. Even GF! I tried the pretzels, grain free sea salt. I love them with some marinara sauce or mustard. You can even do cheese, melted. I done the GF bread. I done the GF Mac n cheese deluxe with beef broth and hamburger meat (make like a fancier version of hamburger helper); add some diced tomatoes and seasoning ohh my goodness. At the end I stir in the melted cheese pack. My husband absolutely loves it!!! I also done the GF frozen donuts, you will only eat one trust me, I thought for sure I would eat more than one but they are so good and so filling. I plan on doing a video for GF items, including dairy free finds at Aldi for the allergen type. Plus, give a few good meal plans. The plan is anyways LoL. The hard lemonade packages, as well as the frozen single serve margarita Pina colodas etc, I believe are new this year. First time for me as well seeing them up there.

Our favorite topping for carnitas is cabbage salsa, from Lady Behide the Curtain web sight, so yummy and crunchy. Also, serving it on a corn tortilla, this is making me hungry. Souther Frugal Momma bought the same roast and canned in to save steps in the process and because they really love the flavor. ♡♡♡

I love those glasses! It's so fun to be able to have so many different styles without having to buy several pairs of glasses! Also, I LOVE Aldi! I do quite a bit of shopping there! My 3 year old grandson has celiac disease, so have to eat gluten free. Aldi has really good GF mac and cheese, both regular mac and the shells and cheese. They taste good (as will all GF pasta, cook it exatly as directed on the package). They also have GF brownie mix, GF pancake/waffle mix, and GF cake mix that are the bomb! There are also GF chicken nuggets that are pretty dang good too! I'm sure I'm missing something, but it really makes life a little easier for our little guy!
