Grocery shopping (by bicycle) in the Netherlands | Week 14 2024 

This was the first week this year that it was warm. Our winters aren't bad though, around freezing. But quite wet. I'm glad you enjoy the content :) .

I prefer the tongs they use at other shops, personally. It can be hard to push out items near the front of the bins at Lidl.

I can't imagine living anywhere else. I love to travel, but I love coming home as well, and have everything within reach. As for improved relations with the EU, I hope so. But a lot of bridges have been burned by the UK in the process of leaving.

You're never stuck in traffic on a bike. 10 km is about the max I'd cycle though

Inderdaad. Zelfs met meerdere supermarkten, kost het me misschien een uur om alles te doen. Minder dan zij onderweg zijn.

As we say here, we're not made of sugar. So even when the weather is bad, you still ride your bike.

Dutch food might now be haute cuisine, but it is good. And the quality of produce here is much higher than I've seen abroad.

No culinary culture? 😂 Every country on the planet has a culinary culture. Just because YOU don't like it, doesn't mean others don't.

@@LalaDepala_00 What a stupid comment! The Dutch are one of those nations that regard cooking and eating as a functional necessity, just to feed the body. With their calvinistic mindset, they don't consider cooking and eating an art: that's exactly the definition of having no culinary culture and that's why their food is so crappy and unedible (not to say anything about their complete ignorance of wine and beer culture). Just because YOU deny that doesn't mean change reality.
