Hi friends,
Today im dedicating the whole video to grocery shopping here in my siberian town Novosibirsk, in the heart of Russia 🇷🇺 I decided to shop for the products for a whole week and show you the whole process. I went to my usual favorite places. Big supermarket, butcher’s shop, farmers market, fruit market. I’m also making a grocery haul after and telling the cost of my purchase. Let me know if you liked this idea ❤️
Thank you for watching 🤍

Many years ago the US agreed to allow Russian sports called the Goodwill Games into Seattle. The Aeroflot plane was not allowed to stay for the week so Aeroflot allowed US passengers to fly very cheap to Siberia until its return to pick up the athletes. I was lucky to be one of those passengers to go to Siberia and was so impressed by the kindness and hospitality shown by the people. Actually ate that desert you purchased and wow was it good! Enjoyed this video very much.

I have to wonder, why are our prices so high!! 🤔😳 The quality of the food and the amount of the food at your farmers markets was astounding and beautiful. Would love to see you cook, I’m trying to do more of a keto diet and they say it’s good to eat pork fat but I don’t know how to cook any of that. Hi from El Paso, Texas, U.S.A.!! Nastya, thank you (and your mother) for taking us shopping with you! Your large grocery store is very much like large grocery stores in the United States. The packaging of some items is a little different, but the kinds of foods is certainly similar. The major differences would be: PRICE: a shopping trip such as you demonstrated today would be much more expensive in the U.S. Others have estimated how great the difference would be and they're right. Another difference I noticed is that package size varies a bit from the U.S. so therefore package quantities vary somewhat. The greatest difference is the gorgeous fruit/vegetable farmer's markets. Locally produced, freshly harvested foods are difficult to obtain in the U.S., unless you live in a large area with a farmer's market. When I was a child, my parents and grandparents grew fresh fruit and vegetables and sold surplus at a farmer's market such as the one you visited. I miss those markets very much. So many foods are "homogenized" in the U.S., packaged and/or frozen and the taste and quality is simply not the same as fresh. I've stopped buying most meats in a grocery store and now purchase meat at the ONE butcher shop where I live. The World Economic Forum is trying to force people to eat either "synthetic" meats or INSECTS packaged as "meats", which are simply HORRIBLE (what do those from the US think of how ground beef tastes lately?). At least from the butcher's shop, I know the meat is real and fresh, even if it is more expensive. I have no problem eating less meat! Thank you, Nastya! I'm a new subscriber now. I will go back through your channel to find things you've filmed before. Looking forward to sharing life with you, even though we're (ALL) thousands of miles apart. My government can forget trying to deceive its people with lies about other nation states. The real people of the earth will share life's truths with one another here on youtube!!

One of the tips we’ve learned when shopping, take a large cooler with us to put cold items in, especially in warmer months. Cold and frozen foods don’t spoil that way. In winter time, when it’s below freezing we don’t take the cooler since it’s already cold out, but spring through fall we do.

That wasn’t a very nice thing to tell someone about your Country. Our politicians have nothing to do with our grocery prices. They are set by the companies themselves. We have no penalties for monopolies. Years ago there were rules against monopolies. Today we don’t have those rules. We have fewer company brands selling food. Almost all shelf food is produced by 10 companies. Even though the packaging looks very different, it’s all owned by so few companies. You can Google to fact check. This is why our food is so expensive. No competition. A please don’t blame on politics. We have enough hate in this Country. Time to join together against big corporations.

@@barbaracilley8200You didn't notice your grocery bill go up this past 3 1/2 yrs by about 200%? Everything has almost doubled in cost. What used to feed my son and I for two weeks was about $187 in 2017, and today is about $300 to $400. It has everything to do with the politicians in office. They cut the funding to the pipeline and made gas prices skyrocket. This caused the trucking companies to have to pay more to ship the product to the stores. This in turn, costs the stores more money to receive their products. That cost gets passed on to the consumer. That is Economics 101. Inflation is due to the policies of those in office. They are using our tax dollars to fund a war overseas, and they are taxing us more in other areas, too, to get that money in order to fund the government. Where do you think the government gets their money from? The taxpayers. Mortgage payments and property taxes are going through the roof. Gas prices are insane, when they were well under $2 back in 2018/2019. It's not a horrible thing to say when it's the truth. Besides, people are allowed to have their own opinions.

Im from michigan in the States. That would have been about $200, where I live at a chain grocery store. Our farmer market has meat and cheese and fresh items, bread, veg, fruit, etc. But it's usually 2-3 times more than a regular big name grocery, but much better quality. Unless you're in a major metropolitain city, then it can be much cheaper. I live in the middle of michigan with about 45,000 people, so our farmers' market can be very expensive. I loved that russia has it's eggs on the shelf, so they are fresh from chicken, ours are in refrigerator because they will go bad and not as fresh. Also, mayo is on the shelf here because it has preservatives.

Thank you for the video. We live in Las Vegas, USA. Our food is all shipped in as we are a desert climate. It is not great quality nor overly fresh. The only high point is that we have large supermarkets that cater to the Hispanic population and have good fruit and veg for very reasonable prices I cook from scratch most of the time. It is always interesting to see how the rest of the world shops and eats! We travel a lot and one thing I always do is visit local markets. Foodie tourism. With the exception of a few touristy markets and a few bona fide farmers markets, the US does not have the great food halls that Europe has. I am the first to admit that my families diet is good but not great. Too much processed food here. And, because of long work hours and high costs, most a lot of people here opt for pre-packed , highly processed convince foods. Of course, that varies regionally. Your purchases would be easily $280 in Vegas but but the meat would be likely unavailable unless it was at a specialty market.

Nastya, I agree with another viewer to show us some of the meals you make with your grocery haul. I would love to shop at that meat and fruit market. But here in the area of Texas where I live we only have the giant shopping stores like you went to. Thanks for taking us with you on a day of grocery shopping.

So many americans here.... Im from canada! Even we shop and cook differently in some parts of canada. We have different groceries or lack of than the USA! Everyone in the US has all kinds of groceries. Come see your neighbors! As for this video, I love watching those who live in Russia. I have such a fascination with your country and your way of life. I would love to come visit if it was allowed

what do you mean not allowed? plenty of American, British, French tourists and they are even vlogging on YT from Russia...Russia didn't ban anyone from coming...they have e-visa you can apply online and all well intentioned ppl are welcome ..

The way I gasped when I saw the $87 total. 😳 In Oklahoma, that haul would be $250 or so.

Hello from the U.S.A. I loved your video, the content was interesting and I am impressed at how much you were able to buy for $87.00! That wouldn't buy very much here unfortunately. Thank you for a glimpse into your country.

If you were saying that all those stores combined that you stopped at cost you $87.00 total, I'm pretty sure it would much more than that here in the US.

That other milk is not boiled it's slow cooked. If you do it overnight in wood stove it's absolutely delicious. Store bought one is not as good but still fine

Hello, new to your channel. I live in Oregon, in the United States and for $87 we get a lot less here. With the price of meat here, all of that meat you purchased would be around $70. Love seeing what you buy in Russia. Would love to see what you cook with all the delicious food you bought! Your video is so nice and calming.

That rumowa baba looks so delicious😍 I like the way your mayo and ketchup are packed in a easy to squeeze little bags. Access to a local farmers market is a great thing to have, healthy, real food, we cherish it here in Poland too (and we also like salo or as we call it here słonina :) I can really see the prices difference though, for that amount of grocery I would have to pay at least twice as much. Your video was very nice to watch and your voice and attitude is very calming. All the best and greetings from Poland 🇵🇱 :)

I am an American and for quite sometime I have been watching videos coming out of Russia and I love them. I don’t know what the price she paid for everything, but their prices are lower. Eggs which are sold 10 to a pack; roughly $1. There are several channels from expatriated Americans living in Russia. One is called EXPAT American. Russians are very friendly people. 😊

wow - You know, today I got a few things at the local "health food" store in Montana usa. A small jar of honey, 2 liter of milk, liter of kefir, a couple pieces of prepared pie, and some prepared food to go for the weekend. $82. The prices are out of control here. Looks like it's our turn for hyper inflation. Have a great week!
