I love how you put the price in different currency, and you open the food immediately ❤

The cabbage price broke my heart. It is five times the price in New Zealand and half the size.

Japan does tend to have smaller sizes for most things. Wow, cabbages are cheaper in New Zealand? Thanks for letting me know!🤗

The produce in Japan is such good quality! I am impressed by how fresh all the fruits and vegetables are in the market

I totally understand. Not only are they beautiful, but the size of the vegetables is uniform, and the packaging is meticulous (though this can be a bit divisive). I am always impressed too. My only concern is sometimes feeling that the quantities are a bit small.Thank you 💗😊

I love your channel . We are hoping to come to Japan this year and I'm looking forward to all the shopping. It would be nice if you could show where to shop for knives, pottery and make up brushes and the prices. Thank you.

Thank you for your comment😊 For knives, I recommend Kyocera knives as they are convenient, sharp, and affordable, but there are many other truly amazing types of knives in Japan. For these, I suggest visiting specialty stores. Regarding pottery, there are so many famous types that it can be quite difficult to match your preferences. As for makeup brushes, they can be pricey, but I know some good ones. These specialized items are sometimes sold in shopping centers and supermarkets, but the selection is often limited and fragmented. However, for general, non-expensive items like everyday dishes and knives, I think I will be able to include them in my future videos. Please understand that my coverage of specific, high-end items might be somewhat fragmented. Thank you💗

@@EverydayShopping_inJapan we’re hoping to come to Japan this year and these are things I’m interested in buying (besides all the things in Don Donki and the pharmacies). It would be nice to know where the pottery, knives and brushes are sold. Thank you for your videos.

@@cp1236 OK, first about pottery. Japan has many famous types of pottery and ceramics, such as Arita ware, Kutani ware, Kiyomizu ware, Seto ware, and many more - too many famous ones to list. Pottery production areas are spread all over the country, and there are various styles, from traditional to Western-style ceramics and dishes. Without knowing your specific preferences, it's hard to give a detailed answer. Regarding knives, there are various types including those made from steel derived from traditional Japanese swords and others made with modern ceramic technologies. The places where they are sold can be in various regions or specialty stores. While there aren't many, places where they are displayed for comparison include large HANDU stores or home centers. Recently, at the HANDU in Shibuya Scramble Square, there were almost 50 different knives on display, so if you go to the HANDU main store in Shibuya, you might find even more to see. The Shibuya HANDU I'm referring to is the same one featured in my stationery video.

@@cp1236 Regarding makeup brushes, there are many high-quality ones available, but especially famous are the Kumano brushes. These are produced in Hiroshima Prefecture, and while there are stores in Hiroshima, they are also sold in various department stores across Japan, though not in every department store. The Kumano Brush store in Ginza is located at the following address: 1-6-10 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. If you plan to visit the Tokyo area, you should be able to enjoy selecting brushes at the Ginza store. Their business hours are from 10:30 to 20:00.

You lived in Japan (Tokyo), didn't you? It must feel a bit nostalgic for you, right? ✨ Shibuya is undergoing lots of development, so the cityscape is constantly changing. That place is great as it has a café that you don't often find in other stores ☕ I'm really happy about both watching my videos and your comments 💗どういたしまして!‼😄

Half of a cabbage is cheap in Japan, at a store where I live in Canada, half a cabbage costs as much as $6 (¥651.10) plus tax (13% or $0.13 per dollar). 6 chicken nuggets costs $6-$8 and a combo with fries and a drink at least $12 or more.

The prices for cabbage and even McDonald's are staggeringly high, aren't they? 😱 It's indeed a tough situation with food costs skyrocketing in every country😢 And a 13% tax, that's significant! In Japan, the tax on food is about 8%. In Japan, while the cost of living is relatively low, income levels are also low, and other taxes are high. Imagining paying $6 for half a cabbage in Japan is almost frightening! 😱 Thanks for sharing the prices in yen and for the info about Canada. It's quite enlightening! 💗

You got a great deal for your lucky bag items! The microwave cake looks so good, I wanna try! The price here in Canada for just one Filet-O-Fish burger (not the combo, just the burger) is $6.19 😯

😲 Wow, that's expensive! I always thought fast food should be something we can enjoy without worrying too much about the cost. 🌎 I hope the global rise in prices calms down soon. Thanks for sharing about Canada! ✨🥰

@@EverydayShopping_inJapan Yes, I hope the inflation will stop, but the damage is already done unfortunately... this is all due to the 2008 financial crisis--the banks were given a $800B bailout and we are all still paying for this now.

@@lordbacon4972 I see. The 2008 financial crisis originated from the subprime loans in America, right? It's been affecting us for a long time now 😢 The lack of signs of improvement also adds to our unease, doesn't it?

@@EverydayShopping_inJapan Yeah it's very bad. The US Gov't just keep creating money from nothing whenever they need to. This kind of arbitrary money making is absolutely ridiculous and unfair to everyone else that is working hard to survive fairly.

Strawberry price tag 😢😢😢. Can buy 5 kilos in Türkiye same price.
@EverydayShopping_inJapan
@EverydayShopping_inJapan 6 месяцев назад
Fruits in Japan are indeed pricey 😢 It's not easy to buy them casually 😢 In Japan, a lot of emphasis is placed on quality, shape, and taste, and they are carefully cultivated with great effort. This contributes to the higher cost. The idea of 5 kilos of strawberries sounds very tempting 🥰
