Grocery Shopping In Thailand

I headed over to Gourmet Market to do a little grocery shopping in Thailand. You can find many western options, but you'll have to be flexible. Plus, the local products will save the most money.
Here's a few links for my favorite credit cards. I try to check the links often, but let me know if there is a problem. If they change the offer on the card, I may need to update the link. Those are wild shows. I'm glad I was a mailman and not on the deck of a frozen crab boat. Four years at sea in the Navy was tough enough

I have noticed that in a lot of those grocery eateries and grocery stores in general they run out of food at the eateries and groceries they run out of the sandwiches and cut fruit maybe the fresh juices say after 5 pm.

UPDATE: That is indeed Bangkok Pat! He confirmed it via email. Great catch to the two earlier commenters. Great episode! I emailed Bangkok Pat, a friend of mine, to ask him if that’s him looking at the menu, in the background, at the very beginning of this video. Lol!!! It looks like him but I don’t think that it is. lol

Yes, I guess it was. I didn't notice in the store. Pat sent a comment. He has a great channel. I'm just a run and gun film guy. He does a really nice polished video. Even these simple videos take time to edit and upload. I can appreciate how long it takes for one of his videos. More like a documentary. I sent Pat a message that he might be the man to do an in-depth video on NIST and St Andrews, maybe other options for schooling. Another consideration is a 50/50 Thai/English program. I believe Greg from the Bangkok Podcast has talked about his son in that program.

There are no real steps for me. I gave everything away, and the day I was eligible to retire, I jumped on a plane. I miss family and friends, but I've always traveled. I knew I wanted to live here. 2 years later, there are no regrets. But, maybe I will make a prepare to move video.

@@JaKi052 He is Thai. Maybe it's a relative of his. I do see him around town. Yes, some of those cookies have to fly 7000 miles. They do have local Oreo's at a local price. But I do splurge on Nilla Wafers once in a while. It's funny, the price will be from 295 baht to 130 baht. I guess when they sit on the shelf for 2 months, Ha ha. I did get the 130 baht box one time. Tasted fine to me.

I love my gourmet markets, I usually hit the one at paragon every day after my workout, or sometimes the smaller one at terminal 21. I’m not really that impressed with the new one at Em sphere.. are you?

Hi Joe! I consider King Crab overrated! For me, king crab is too salty for my taste. I prefer Dungeness crab, snow crab, and blue crab.

Before Covid, I would buy a 10lb box of frozen Alaskan King crab at Costco for $179. Now it is no longer available.

Ya, there is so much affordable Thai crab, that wouldn't work here. Even the $250 live crab is a little nuts. They also enjoy bragging about the bar with $50 drinks. The rest of us have a nice $10 Thai crab meal.

I’ve seen Russian KingCrab in Thailand. FYI: The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) canceled the commercial red and blue king crab fishery for the 2023-2024 season due to stock levels being below the regulatory threshold.

They have a few Japanese stores. Watts and Daiso are good. Most items are 60b. That's closer to $1.75, but it's the same idea.

Well, do the bbq once in a while. But I'm not a huge buffet guy. The Marriott was nice but it was 3000b
