I’m a meat manager for a grocery store. If the hamburger is 10 per pound, then get the roast that is on sale for 4.99 and have the butcher grind it. And save 5 dollars per pound. We have to start to get smarter as consumers!!!

If the big companies shared their bonuses, we living on low wages wouldn't need food stamps. Working 70 hours a week and still qualifying for food stamps...and needing them because they have bullied us into serfdom through inflation. Slaves were at least fed and housed...we should be as well.
Well, I have a friend who never paid into taxes much, he is 66 and collects 526 a month from social security.....that's it...he is active and healthy so can work odd jobs too, but that's a meager sum....and better than no check at all🎉😂
True I’m 64 years old and I also remember my grandparents telling me how they struggled during the depression. My grandmother was lucky to find a job while my grandfather could not find one. My times they went hungry. My mother always remembers being hungry.

Nope I went to Walmart today and got a 50 lb bag of dog food and 30 lbs of cat that lasts us the 2 weeks to next pay day. Buying the cheapest food I spent $29/bag so basically $60 for 2 weeks - insane

SS beneficiaries are getting a negligible cost of living increase next year! Have money for EBT cards and wars we created but nada for US seniors. SS has not been keeping up with the Real Inflation over the past years either. IMO!

The government cuts a check every Fri for 75% of the entire US economy. Add it up. Welfare, Section8, food stamps, social security,federal,state,and county gov jobs, medicare and medicaid, illegal immigrants housing and debit cards, military+ military and government support contractors (massive amount)
Seniors and those on Disability who need Food Stamps the most, either don’t qualify or only get a few dollars because of the way they calculate them! Unfair!
We went to Costco and the cashier told us the same thing , 8 out of 10 using EBT and carts are full . She told us she can’t afford what the people using it are buying .

Started going back to my grandma's old school cook from scratch recipes a few years ago to train myself to stretch a dollar....can make a big pot of soup for lunch all week that costs $5 - $6. Offal, trotters, all fair game these days.

I live on low income SS. If I didn't have EBT card for just over $100 a month, I wouldn't be able to buy food. I have No extra bills only lot rent, electric, vehicle insurance and internet. As well as house taxes. That most of my $900 for the month. I could lose my house if lot rent goes up too much. I am 69 and disabled so unable to work or I would be working at least part time somewhere.
Not a good indicator. There are many like me who use credit cards to buy groceries but pay the bill off every month. It is free money during the month, plus there are CashBack bonuses earned on most cards.
I lost my job during the pandemic and have worked my whole life. I applied for food stamps and they were giving me $60 for a family of 3 lol. I was like stick it where the sun don't shine. The working class people don't get crap when you need it. We can't rely on the government for help, we are on our own.
I had a similar conversation with a cashier at Sam's Club. He told me I was the first customer he had that day (late afternoon) that wasn't using food stamps (or whatever it's called now) to pay.
Who cares I use food stamps. it's all good I could care less. I am college educated. Can't get a good job. I want to get out of the US that's what I want to do.

I had to order something online so I used a cedit card. I charged 72 dollars. My statement just came and minimum payment is 35 dollars. Half of what I charged. I have never seen that before. I have no other charges on it. Course I am going to pay the full balance but I was surprised at the high minimum. I can't imagine what people are paying that have thousands charged up.
Yes 35 is usually the minimum payment due, unless you have no balance and charge like 20 bucks, then they will ask for 20 as minimum payment. ...saying 😂

Even 60 year olds have to work a job to get food stamps....no job no help.. wages are so low they have to be subsidized to be able to afford food... Another way to conquer them
So many seniors having a hard time. Have had some come up to me outside grocery stores asking for food. One gentleman just wanted a jar of peanut butter and loaf of bread. 😢
I’m handing out cards to tell where the food pantry is. A grocery clerk asked me for some so she could give them to seniors who are putting back food they cannot afford.
These rate cuts mean more price increases and I’m exhausted already living on a budget debt free cooking every single meal we eat at home because it’s $100 to go out for four ungrateful people including myself I used to love cooking now I hate cooking for my family

Here's this for inflation. Last year a packet of 5 oil changes at the dealership was 275, the year before it was 250. Earlier this year its price was 339, and now it is 399 dollars for 5 oil changes, just went up $70 like that. Thanks, Biden.

Good thing we can get food subsidies. And its best if you rent... not own anything. Kind of unfair to people who own a mortgage....who also pay property taxes...but struggle just like renters. Very unfair
You do know renters do actually pay for the landlord's taxes and insurance. Many cities do tax renters as part of their rental amount. Also many who have mortgages, their payment is lower than rent, because they don't move every 7 years.
