It’s always great to watch a person who has a great relationship with their pet. Your cat obviously trusts you completely and enjoys interacting with you (including chatting!).
Now THAT is how you groom a cat . From my veterinarian point of view , you lady are one true animal lover and you do realize that the most important thing about grooming is to make the cat (or dog) comfortable first , and safe and only then , slowly start the process and stop every time the animal seems to have had enough , and start over again later . This is really how you take care of a cat, Grooming is far less important than having a stressed cat as nothing is more dangerous for their health . Your video should be shown as an example .
Grooming equals loving in our home. I just show the brush or slicker to Sophia and she comes running, lays down on her back and puts her paws over her head. She makes biscuits in the air while I comb her belly and armpits. She's 20 now and has never had a mat in her life and she's a long haired beauty. 💜💙 I've been brushing cats for 40+ years, it's very relaxing.
@@Sharon-pb7so Just the fact that you have a healthy 20 years old cat is evidence enough of what a great pet owner you are . Where did you get Sophia from and what kind of cat is she ?
Her fur is gorgeous! You should save it after each grooming and find someone to card and spin it into yarn to knit or crochet with. I bet it would be similar to angora
I also brush and comb my Maine Coon every evening because she always gets a lot of garden rubbish in her fur. She loves it, and I think the reason for this is that she has a lot of "loose" fur and that is probably itchy. Strange enough, she does not like to get her belly touched, not even stroked with my hands and she does not like water. People do say MC's love water, don't they? She is almost 2 years old and weighs 4 kg and I reckon she will be around 5.5 kg in another 2 years time. I also have 2 European shorthairs, they are approx. 10 y.o. and they weigh 3.9 and 4.2 kg. I love my Maine Coon most because she has such a lovely sweet character, always talks to me and loves cuddlies. By the way, a swaying tail only means a cat is angry when she moves it AWAY from you, really banging it onto the floor.
Thank you again for showing us how to groom a big furry Kitty cat. I like the way you do the short strokes so that you're not pulling on their skin. This is how I was with my small dog. When she let me brush her it was with small delicate Strokes. She had her own dog brush but also sometimes a used one of mine. Thanks again for showing us the video gold information
Sorry for your loss Our LITTLE BEAR was 20 died of a stroke his mate LOLA althou she most 20 now in ill health & gone deaf after surgery but she's comfortable & so loved. 🖐FROM MASSACHUSETTS.
I love watching this!!! So glad to see that she likes being brushed... i know cats with long fur that hate being brushed because of the little knots in the long fur... my cats are all short haired but they hate being brushed too😂 so it makes me happy to see cats being brushed its so satisfying
I have a rake just like that one. It really works to keep the fur balls from taking over the house and also she doesn't puke up hair balls anymore. She loves getting brushed too. My cat hangs next to the food bowl too. She is very furry and fluffy. Your cat looks just like mine except for the color. I love cats.
She is beautiful!!! I love how well behaved she is. I just put a deposit down for a Main Coon and I can hardly wait! To get a pure bread Main Coon there's always a wait list, but it will be so worth it. I would LOVE to have a silver one! I am getting a female. Momma will be due In mid June 2020. ❤️❤️
Gorgeous cat!!! And she is not fat. . . she is fluffy! I am a spinner and I spun "wool" from my fluffy cat Dizzy. I made a small change purse from her fur and I treasure it. She died a few years back and I miss her so much. . . :(
Spinning is a rare commodity these days! If i could knit I would have many many jumpers! I've done some felting with her fur though, it's not pure white, there are lots of black and grey hairs so it looks dirty.
She is beautiful! We have to brush our Maine Coon, Elsa, at least every other day to prevent knots and give her a sanitary trim with the clippers on her rear end or else poop gets stuck to her fur because it's so long!
