We had a rescue sheltie once, truly the most intelligent & loving dog I've ever seen, & she automatically would lay down on her side for brushing without the need for any training or instruction, she just lay there so relaxed & loving the brushing, attention, & all with a big smile on her face also...!
My sheltie has frizzy fur.. it started when i began working to thin the undercoat... he has a huge coat.. can you tell me what to put on him to defrizz him .
BC Canada!? I was putting money on that being a Southern Michigan/ Northern Ohio accent. If you were walking around my local grocery store, no one would ask boo about your accent or where you're from.
It's simply training. The young dog learns to lay quietly and relax. They often actually fall asleep while getting groomed. Done correctly, grooming your sheltie doesn't hurt anymore than brushing your hair or getting your hair cut..
