I have a Keeshond. THIS is the best video for grooming!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially how you do it with him laying down! This is the only way I can groom because I have no fancy groom table or the leash things from above. I sit on the floor with my dogs. I have 3 Kees and it ALOT of work!!! The hind quarters are the toughest. Yours is the BEST video.... and believe me, I’ve watched a lot of them. I subscribed!! Thank you for this. I agree with the wash and wear type of coat but the language of blowing a coat actually means shedding which they do every day. I groom every day with one tool a steel comb. Which removes the undercoat and top coat. I have had this breed in my life for 60 years. My family bred them and I did to. This breed is not so complicated to groom, they actually pretty simple if maintained daily. I don't know when it became so complicated but my shelties always look like they are ready to show. They have long flowing coats.I bathe them every other week, brush teeth, groom daily and clip toe nails as needed. The public is buying all sorts of tools that are unnecessary to groom this breed. You are making the grooming supplier rich.

But you've missed the most important part of linebrushing! After making straight line parts close together, they're supposed to spray a straight line of water (not set on misting but making a straight line shot of water from a spray bottle) right thru every little part they've made. That adds moisture right down to the skin to invigorate it. It keeps the skin healthy. They shouldn't mist with the water as all that does is make all the hair wet. They're really just trying to moiston the skin, not wet all the hair. Also altho it probably doesn't matter whether they brush from tail forward or not, normally linebrushing goes from top of back to bottom of belly closest to you. Then from ears to shoulder brushed forward. People need to buy the Sheltie Talk book, which is easily found (used) online. It shows how to groom their sheltie among lots of other important info, making that book the #1 breed book ever written. It's become the Sheltie bible amongst sheltie breeders, pet owners, dog show exhibitors, etc.
