Dat een van de mooiste uitvoeringen (tot op heden), van 'God Save the King' mag komen van een Nederlandse Publieke Omroep. Bijzonder! That one of the most beautiful renditions (until now), of 'God Save the King' should come from a Dutch Public Broadcaster. Remarkable!

Why do not they sing this part of the anthem? «O Lord, our God, arise, Scatter his enemies, And make them fall: Confound their politics, Frustrate their knavish tricks, On Thee our hopes we fix: God save us all.»

@@rivenoak I disagree with you, these stanzas are a traditional integral part of the anthem, they cannot just be thrown out for the sake of political correctness

not to sneeze at the great performance, but afaik the lines in 2nd stanza are now _with heart and voice to sing Good save the King_ it rhymes if the monarch is male as it it by now

There is no Change in that particular line. It still remains To sing with heart and voice, God save the King

Lovely. It was Her late Majesty's custom, following along past tradition, never to touch or be touched beyond royalty or offering her, often gloved, hand. Her Majesty rarely turned to wave to waiting crowds at the Abbey or St Paul's and usually only when Prince Phillip suggested they do so. Princess Diana and the younger royals have relaxed such formality and even now outside of royals and aristocrats the formal male head bow or female curtsey is voluntary. Therefore it is warming to see His Majesty accept a sympathetic pat and even kiss on the cheek from a commoner on the rope line. Good sign. God Save The King. But that "consort".
