A bit of history to the riff in the song. As others have mentioned, it's from April Spring Summer & Wednesdays by Status Quo. But the connections to Groove Armada are more than just the song. Bob Young was their mgr/tour mgr and he was Status Quo 6th member, he co -wrote April Spring along with numerous Quo hits, Caroline, Down Down etc, played harmonica on stage and was their tour mgr until the early 80s. April spring comes from Ma Kellys Greasy Spoon, an album the guys in GA had in their top 10 albums in GQ magazine. It is a classic, and not what you expect form Qup. April Spring is grunge 20 years before Nirvana.

Oh yeah they were definitely in the Trip Hop wheelhouse; Neneh Cherry did vocals on the Groove Armada album this song is from. It has an eclectic Trip Hop vibe to it.

francis rossi from the Quo played on this, the guitar riff is from one of his early Quo tracks called April, Spring Summer And Wednesday, and he's the one you can see on the building playing the guiar when the riff kicks in proper. Quo have been sample so many times! and people say quo are shit! i think not

A place called South kilburn in NW London UK I've walked and still do these streets, lots or regeneration now. Also at the time I think some of it is in the video is an adjoining concrete estate called Rowley Way. The biggest in Europe at the time opened in 1978 Abbey Road Recording studios famous for the Beatles is right there. Hope this helps. 💯💥👍🏼
