My heart sank for a brief moment when I saw those beautiful, expensive rounds being ejected into the dirt. Then I noticed for a brief second Taran looked down to take inventory of the rounds he had ejected and all was right with the world.

The reason is so you don't realize what a Croc of shit he's spewing he talking to different things competitive shooting and a gun fight for competitive shooting I will admit what he's saying has merit however in a gunfight not so much
I believe exactly what he is telling us...but continue to teach gross motor skills to the larger group. I greatly respect that Terran can effectively demonstrate everything he teaches.
Glock 34s are easy to shoot because of the long barrel. Its quite easy to learn to shoot like that with that gun. Not to mention Taran has modded his for peak efficiency.

Taran you are so fast on this drill I had to watch that reload like 5x to convince my brain that what my eyes saw really happened! Damn good man damn good!!!

I love that these ladies are running full sized pistols without a problem. I have gotten beat in matches by galls running 1911’s. One of the big obstacles I have as an instructor is women buying these tiny assed guns they can’t control and are also painfully to shoot because the gun is too light to absorb any of the recoil. Great stuff.
Try using your trigger finger to activate the slide release. I reversed the mag release on my guns after I bought a ppq with the paddle mag release and it works so maybe using your trigger finger on the slide release might work also worth a try.

Taran, I stumbled across your videos yesterday, (new trigger for glock) and damn, you can shoot. I try not to get all tactical nerdy by watching every shooting video that comes out but your videos seem different so I'll keep watching. And I learned some thing in this video EVEN WITH the gun bunnies in the background. Was that a test? Now I'm going to rewatch and make sure they were listening lol.
I like the S&W M2.0 5" (I use one as a backup USPSA gun), but I hate the newer slide lock mechanism. It's usually not an issue as I just about never run dry before mag changes (unless required for the stage), but when it happens it's beyond annoying!
I love when Maste Taran does impressions from obscure movies most people don’t know or can remember. It makes you feel like you’re getting a private lesson from a mentor or something.
Bruh I'd take a day with Taran all day every day. There's always gonna be someone else to "have a go with", also I'm way to young to be with them. but legit I'd do anything to have a day or 2 at that range

At 3:32 I remember being mocked ny a retired Miami cop who said i could never be a cop, cause I reloaded exactly as this guy does. The retired cop said you always have to pull slide completely back, never use slide release 🤦♂️
I was told “Missing the slide release can cost you milliseconds that can get you killed in a gunfight” except for the fact the gross motor skills BS is literally slower EVERY time I’d need to reload as opposed to the rare occasion I miss the slide catch. Hell, even on times where I’ve missed the slide lock and gone in a second time, the slide release reload was faster.
That’s because he actually knew what he was talking about in a practical scenario. He was right, you could never be a cop. Only a paper shooter. And that’s okay I guess.
@@joncampo1627 I called the firearm's manufacturer. They explained, I was correct, because when the slide is locked to the rear, it was made to completely pass the magazine well area; so releasing it by the slide release button is fine. And they went on to inform me that precious time is lost trying to pull the slide to the rear, with your second hand, then try to regain grip, and aim; especially in a gunfight, because ppl lose gross motor skills . Btw, I'm now a retired Police Officer , so there goes your bs theory,genius.

I slingshot the slide, there are many reasons to do it. I'm never shooting on a timer (except in IDPA) so the extra 1 second it takes for me to do it means nothing to me. Also, when training you shouldn't assume you'll be fighting with YOUR gun. Some slide stops and releases are hard to hit/may take a lot of pressure to release and I've had guns where they are ONLY a slide lock and not a release. As for the slide going forward after putting the mag in you just pull the slide and make sure the thing is loaded, it takes no extra time if you do this EVERY time. Making sure I get out of a gun fight alive is more important that saving 1 second on the reload time.
There's alot going on you're watching the sight picture you're watching the slide so you know immediately if there's a malfunction. You should be counting rounds.

Not only that, but sometimes when you try to slingshot the slide forward the slide stop lever fails to fall free. The trigger pin can walk a little bit and pinch the slide stop lever. When you sling shot it you’re introducing another means of failure.
This is all fine and dandy on a nice clean shooting range. Try hitting the slide release when you're soaking wet laying in a mud hole. When you're fighting for your life you will grip it and rip it.
The gross motor skills argument has never made any sense to me, because every time I have heard it the trainer first tells me to push the mag release with my thumb. Then goes on and on about you will lose fine motor skills in a fight.
That tactic for dropping the mag for people with small hands my also work for me. I am left handed and broke my left thumb twice while riding motorcycle when I was young, it makes it hard to hit the mag release even with it's switched for use with the left thumb. I will have to practice that move.
