Eddie Elguera started going backwards in the 70's and then Salman Agah took it to switch in the 90's. In this episode Grosso sits down with both to connect the dots from the 70's to the 90's and beyond.
i really like this show. the footage is great, the stories are phenomenal, maybe who did what first is a lil off but it was the 70s, everyone was baked

Peace BURNSIDE thank you Jeff your letters of love keep me going.....i switched up pushing mongo...thank you and miss you nine years later...and i still haven't been back over there. "buy him then"" -J P E
why does Winchester never get talked about? I've never skated there but it looks perfect and i wondered what the guys who did get to skate there thought about that bowl.
If you push all four push types in a line, no one can say shit. Start out mongo, 180 trick into a switch push, then switch mongo, then regular pushing. Kooky enough to maybe be original, idk. H what do you think?
what about Pivot to fakie, 5-0 to fakie, dan drehobl and omar hassan should have been on this episode! and I thought Duane invented fakie hang ups aka fakie disasters? you're blowing it Grosso!! but we still love the love letters
if you're skating transition, then the switch stance kind of blends into fakie and nollie stance, that's why it's good to practice it. For example, if you do a nose stall, you'll realize that to come back in you're doing a switch drop in. If you try to do a fakie rock (i.e. a rock coming fakie) you'll soon realize that you're actually doing a switch rock...
I push mongo and love it, learned to in my 8th year of skating. How ever, I hate to shit on your parade but switch is not fakie. If one is getting caught looking fakie while skating his alternate stance, he is unbalanced. It means he skates one way, way too much. I am a goofy footer and ever since my 6th year when it finally happened (yes I was able to rip the park regular footed all day). I was so stoked I wormed down my day by doing my first goofy footed board slide down a 4 set on a real size hand rail (did like 5 of them and went home with a smile). Switching ones stance back and forth is kind of crappy so I try focusing on one stance(I call it goofy foot, regular foot) while not hating on fakie which I will creep on very soon. Love you Grosso, keep em letters coming! plus I also have a 15 year gap in my skating. It goes 13 to 18, 30 to 34 skated the summer of 99' and now worming up for what I hope is a 10year run 40 to 50. Again thank you for all your letters dude, your my hero.
Mongo Pride! I never learned to push the "correct" way. I still can't "run & go", but I can drop in (axle or tail)! If you can roll-in on vert, especially, let's say combi square corner, Combi round, or Upland (Memorial Park) deep end, you have BALLS. My homey Frank F can. Pretty much anywhere. Maybe I'll go for it 1 day.
I think they look weird when they skate switch with knees all funny... -a lack of ‘fakie’ is why I hate Skate3..whenever I’m bout to half cab something I’m instead just don’t a switch 180.. Gayness
