They can fight Grothama additionally to attacking, not instead of. If they survive the fighting, they are still attacking.

Marchesa was the commander I wanted to build for years but didn't because she wasn't on arena. When I got physical cards, I built her and it was incredibly satisfying.

I have a grothama deck that is all in on voltron, but just pump spell (giant growth) type effects. I am always surprised at how little people try and fight me when they dont know what kind of pumps are in my hand with any amount of open mana. Also its super easy to one shot people out of nowhere with one or two pump spells

This is a cool brew! I like the kind of high-risk, high-reward set-up you've designed here, and it's pretty versatile too. You've got the ramp and reload options, you've got the mill option, and you've got the huge combat damage option, and baiting someone to use a big resource to try to score a bunch of cards off of Grothama only to shut them down with a well-timed protection spell sounds so satisfying. It might be cool to play around with a Wild Defiance to grow your creatures even more when they get targeted with sorceries or instants.

17:46 witchs clinic is not just 10 life a turn, it's stupid since it also works with the fighting. Basically fight X creatures and gain 10x life, even with 4 or 5 creatures that's 40 or 50 life

I love vedalken orrery in this deck it lets you flash in vigor or colossification for a sweet gotcha when they think they gotcha.

Important note, you seem to be treating the fight as a replacement effect, it's not. There's declare attackers, beat up Grothama, declare blockers, damage. Troll will draw a lot of cards AND deal a lot of damage to the opponent.

Obscuring haze is actually even more busted than you bring up. It prevents damage from OPPONENTS creatures, so the fight damage dealt TO Grothama is prevented but the damage back is still dealt likely resulting in a one sided board wipe.

Also, you love splendid reclamation so much (I do too!), world shaper is even better since it will kill itself fighting Grothama :)

First of all, excellent idea for a Mono Green deck. Something some people wouldn't expect in green that isn't already available in green. Thanks for the help of some decently cheap to cheap green cards I need to put in my Mono Green Partner Deck of Kodama of the East tree/Halana, Kessig Ranger. A majority of the creatures are */* for amount of Forests or Lands I control. So for your deck, I would for at least, add Trepanation Blade for 5H!75 and Giggles. All so one question, whats the Specs on your PC in the background, it looks sick, not a fan of RGB though, all so, change that white cord to a matching black cord. I think if I am right, it is an Ethernet cord....come on lol!!!

I know it's a $15 card, but I feel like a Grothama deck isn't complete without Vigor. Have all of your big creatures fight Grothama, but then prevent that damage and put a bunch of 1/1 tokens is going to end the game rather quickly
