Do you have ever those nights when you just need to throw together a meal for dinner? Tonight was one of those nights. But just because I was short on time and didn't have something prepared for supper, doesn't mean that it doesn't have to taste good. I'm calling this dish, Ground Beef Surprise!

I keep an Empty coffee can or bottle to..collect drippings. Keep it in the refrigerator or freezer Until full..then dispose.

I made this for dinner last week. 😂 I used to make this recipe frequently, when I was feeding my family of 8. I’m alone now and it served me for 4 meals!

I think I would call this "Mama Sue's Supreme"...this looks absolutely delicious, and I must say, in my 64 years of life, I have never had ground beef over rice, always noodles or potatoes (only exception would be stuffed peppers, not the same thing though). I cannot wait to try this! Thanks for sharing!❤🙏👍

This was surprisingly good! Thank you for such a simple dish for busy days. Tip: I pull my ground beef to one side of the pan and soak up the liquid with paper towels. So easy.

Groceries are so expensive! 😢 We need recipes that are simple and good without all sorts of expensive ingredients. ( I'm talking about myself). I don't know about others, but I enjoy meat with my meals. Time to break out crockpot pintos and cornbread days! Some good ideas Momma Sue 😊🎉 God bless

I would go ahead and mix the rice into the hamburger mixture, and add some sort of vegetable - I always have a variety of frozen veggies in my freezer. When my boys were little, I realized they were much more willing to eat their vegetables if it was all mixed together :-)

I would use cabbage or broccoli instead of rice..but that’s because I am on a low carb lifestyle..

You can put that foil in the sink over the drain ( instead of the bowl) then when it's dry and just throw it away and your done. That's what I do

I’ll make a dish very similar to this. I don’t put the soup in it or the paprika but I put everything else in it that you did and I mix the rice in with the meat. I serve it with Ranch style beans and corn. I call it Dirty Rice even though I know that’s really not what dirty rice is, but that’s just what I call it.

How do you cook rice to make it nice and fluffy?

Rice was the first thing my mother taught me to cook. I use 2-1/2 cups of water, bring to a boil, add one cup of rice and one teaspoon of salt. Stir it up, cover, lower the heat. After 10 minutes I stir it well, put the lid back on, and turn off the heat. The water will be absorbed and before long you can stir it up and serve it.
