Fun fact, the tire pressure you are running is the ground pressure that tire will make. Obviously the heavier the vehicle the more it will squish the tire down and make a larger contact patch but still the same PSI. I used my truck a bunch for compacting the pad for my hangar 🤙
The vibration consolidates the interstitial spaces between the agregate particles. If you want compaction vibration plus moisture to lube up the process is ideal. Your truck weight is bearing pressure, essentially how much weight you can stack on top without squishing below. Either case you aren't building a bridge, you'll be just fine with what you got. But major bummer about that rental equipment. Also just want to know what little portable fire pit that is? Looking for one for my 4 wheeler trips. Love the property and the vids. Thanks for sharing.
I love it he so nerdy I mean that in a good way. HaHa I (Kelley) would be like yep need something heavy. Love the lights and wow that steak looked so good also it was huge.
@@BeckiandChris that’s right don’t you dare because the whole time I thought that hat said Pepsi but then at the end I got it because it’s says sepsis and then I remembered he’s a doctor you know, Dr. humor
If you guys plan on building another camp site with a gravel pad I’d recommend looking into Geocell ground grids. You dig out the spot you want your pads, put the grid down and then pour in your gravel and the cells lock the gravel in and keep it from washing out. My uncle and I used it for a crushed concrete pad to park a camper on and it has held up great.
@@BeckiandChris they work like a charm. Just stake down the landscaping fabric beneath it and you’re good to go. One other thing we did was framed the geocell with some pressure treated lumber to help out even more. It has held up fantastical the last 4 years!
Had to laugh at Chris’s hair sticking out of his hood like unruly chest hair or a weird chest beard. 12:02 Also glad you guys were in good spirits even when things didn’t go the way you expected. Just have to roll with the punches.
Plate compactor issue sounds like the fuel vent in the cap is blocked, you may have tried it already but if not next time try loosening the cap or taking it off completely to test.
Ya’ll have no idea how much I enjoy this series! I’ve been a “digital nomad”, living and working full-time out of my Mazda3. In the process of buying land… This content is feeding my soul on so many levels. 😌🤌🏼
It’s the UnderCover Armor Flex Tonneau Cover! my plan was to run the tonneau over winters and swap to the bed-rack over the summer but I ended up leaving the bedrack on all winter because I ran out of time to build a pulley style storage system
