How cool would it have been if Metal Gear Survive was a DLC about a custom Soldier's POV of Mother Base's destruction and life until Venom Snake finds him/her.
metal gear survive could have been a much different game had they taken it in a way that tells the story of the mother base soldiers, going place to place working for anyone all that like normal but without big boss leading them eventually being lead to the mother base soldiers you find wandering in phantom pain
What if instead, the surviving Motherbase soldiers lose faith in Big Boss and build one of the Private Forces you see in Metal Gear Solid 5 over the nine years that Big Boss was in a coma.
@@Chasati96 So basically Peace Walker was all about building up MSF and it really became like a family. If you are playing Survive or MGSV before Peace Walker you will never feel what I'm talking about.
8:44 they turned a box, one of the greatest and loved stealth mechanics in the series, to the worst thing to happen in this game cuz if it wasn't for that box, this game wouldn't have happened in the first place!! Lol
I will say, while MGS wasn't the best game ever, the opening (where we saw our character being pulling into the sky) was a genuinely good hook for me. Honestly though, I feel the Metal Gear title is holding the game back. Not because Metal Gear is bad, quite the opposite, which causes people to look at it as a Metal Gear game. It's kind of like how the only way I was able to enjoy Rainbow Six Siege was by not looking at it as a Rainbow Six game. It was hard to do that with Survive since it was quite clearly just rehashed mgs5 but not, yet by not looking at it as canon or a mainline game, I enjoyed it.
Wow,a reasoned summary of Survive that ends quite favourably on it. I have 300 hours in Survive (thanks to a broken ankle and nowhere to go) and really enjoyed it. It was a bit twee and basic story wise, but base building and exploring was great. And multiplayer was enjoyable. I played up to the Rex update then moved on.
@@LimbsMgee The multiplayer was the best part for me. I sadly didn't get to experience peace walkers multiplayer, so when I saw MGS5 had multiplayer I was hoping for some co-op. Then I played MGS, and most of the people I ran into were genuinely friendly and usually chill even when we failed. I would have liked more missions outside of "defend" and "rescue then defend" (I don't recall if there were more than that, been a while) but I loved the events especailly, even if the only event I took part in was the MGS3 event. Something about seeing the Shagohod suddenly zip in from out of nowhere and mow down a horde that was rushing the building as me and my buddies were laying down an earpiercing amount of fire was great.
@@strider117aldo9 "Realistic damage" I mean headshots yeah but other than that not sure about that one mate. Though to be fair I refuse to play competitive since that's just not my scene, maybe it's different there. "Destructible environments" Now I played the old rainbow sixes (and the psp version of vegas. I know. I regret not playing it on something better) and I don't exactly remember destructible environments. Not that that's a bad thing, in fact the destructible environments are a blast (no pun intended), plus I'll be real I have piss poor memory. Coupled by the fact I was rather young when I played them and most of my memory from those days is taken up by medal of honor: allied assault and it's expansions. As for how it's not R6, to me it's more of your average esports "pick a champion" games rather than a true rainbow six title. But like I said, that's how I enjoy it. I didn't say, explicitly, that it is not a rainbow six game. It doesn't FEEL rainbow six to me, from my memory (which again I admit to being flawed).
Seriously, that part was good? Retconning a realistic event to say a ‘wormhole’ showed up and took everybody to another dimension? I think you’re being exceptionally kind.
I like it as a game. Hell I like it as a metal gear. Sure it's a spin off but it tells how the future is plague by the nanomachines that Armstrong was so adamant about. But then the mother base soldier (you) has to find a way back home to Big Boss.
Imagine if instead of making Metal Gear: Survive, they finished and released MGSV: Kingdom of the Flies as DLC. So much work for pointless zombie spinoff...
Honestly if they wanted to make a game or DLC in conjunction to MGSV, they should have either made the title about playing as a wandering MSF soldier that Venom eventually finds years later after his coma and recovery or about Mosquito and the formation of the Mosquito Strike Force. Further fleshing out his story and the building of his PF and eventual attack on Mother Base.
But where the hell does the portal come from? Was there any sort of relativity experiment going on MB? Some way the patriots got rid of evidence of their involvement through some kind of wormhole thingamabob? Was there any explanation?

what if MGSurvive's bad ending is actualy cannon, and all of the event is only his/her dream until he/she wake up and become wandering mother base soldier
The motherbase attack could have been a whole ground zeroes level in of itself, would do unspeakable things just for this to be a actual level in a MGS Game,
