Hello, I wanted to share a trick I discovered that will help you take down Black Ox Beetles early on in the game. I hope you find this helpful as well. Let me know in the comments Difficulty = Whoa!!
Nice I like using this cheese method using high ground or unreachable places the Ox Beetle (even other large creatures) can get to. Like I built high platforms with walkways spread out just to hunt the stink beetle in the areas where they spawn lots. I personally like using the bow/crossbow with the sharpshooter mutation. No need for having multiple chest and a invitatory full of spears. Just a few stacks of arrows. I mainly like using the crossbow with the with the splitter arrows once I get up to that level of gear. With the gold milk moler perks too you can have larger stacks of arrows. I know the grossbow reload speed is slower but you don't need to adjust the arc if the target is at a certain range. So it a better chance to hit the target. One thing I think needs to be implemented into the game is something like quiver pouch. It take up only 1 inventory slot but you can but 2-3+ stacks of arrows in it.that way you can have the extra space in your backpack for gathering items.
I'd suggest leaving 1 spear in each chest, then using the "nearby hot deposit" option. With 3-4 baskets at the top, you only need to make 1 trip down to collect the spears. Also, I think it'd be funny if you themed your channel around "Pebble Spears Only". Make tutorials for every enemy, boss, etc with only Pebble Spears. Do Livestreams/long videos of runs of Grounded with Pebble Spears Only. One downside would be that the content would have to revolve around grounded primarily, which may not grow well. You could do similar strats in other games to keep with the theme.
Also yeah tics are freaking terrifying… I had a swarm of 5 they grouped up and defeated a lady bird and ox beetle and a tiger mosquito at the same time…
Since you built your grass side walk up to the pinch waker at around 2:30 Could you do a video on your thoughts about it? Like do you think is worth getting early game or is it over rated for a tier 3 weapon. Because getting it early game can be a pain 😂 since you need to build to the cave get a bomb and do it all with out dying 😂 Also awesome black ox video by the way 🎉
I will not be wasting my time with the dozens of spears, and will just fumigate both with gas arrows when I go to farm them. But this IS the first time I found out those two are even there.
Have you completed the Spicy Coaltana mixer? It’s a tuff challenge I haven’t been able to beat it the sizzle is horrible and the ladybird larva will destroy you. But the weapon looks so cool I can’t wait to beat it to try it out lol
I have the the weapon from the charcoal bag. I kept getting beat up by the heat as well and what eventually worked for me was having scented arrows to keep them away from the center and then I believe it was salt or fresh arrows to take them out. When I beat this I realized it should have been a video, but it was too late. Lol
@@johnhamme Yeah, you get Fresh Defense for eating them. Total of ten, just don't eat them fast or it might not count. Tier 1 is 1 mint, tier 2 is when you eat 5, and tier 3 is at 10. Total.
Totally, Those things would help. That is why I was using Pebble Spears, Acorn Armor and didn't select mutations that you wouldn't have, for the demonstration.
