I have severe panic attacks. Haven't left my house in months. Acute dystonia and Misophonia. My life used to be normal 2 years ago, being a militant in the US forces. But it always takes 1 event to change your life forever. I'm lost and don't see any hope for myself anymore. Scared of everything and myself. Ten years ago my ex gf cheated on me. It destroyed me. I stopped caring about what I looked like, constantly subjecting myself in this whirlpool of self-pity and resentment. I found escape in games, movies, whatever it was that kept my mind occupied. Fast forward ten years later, I meet a woman. She's wonderful. I haven't felt a spark towards anyone for a long, long time. We became pretty good friends, and I somehow mustered the courage to risk that friendship and ask her out. I was shot down fantastically. What brought me down wasn't the rejection though, it was the fact that I took a chance that I knew I didn't have, and I may have just ruined our friendship for own selfishness. Thankfully, she was much more mature than I. After a couple days of awkwardness, she was the first to try to initiate conversation and bring it back before like it all never happened. I was so thankful. And at the same time, frustratingly, this only made me fall deeper for her. I'm smarter this time though, I would never risk damaging our friendship again. That being said, I still wanted to try.. indirectly. I cared about my own appearance again. I cleaned up. I lost 50 pounds. I exercise and stay in shape. I studied and practiced fashion, so that dressing to impress became as natural to me as breathing. I fixed my posture, my walking, and my demeanor. I studied psychology and how people make snap judgments about others because it 's easy. I want to get it right the first time, every time. I learned several random subjects just to become more knowledgeable, intelligent, and hopefully wise. Most importantly, I worked on my inner self... my maturity. I did all of this in the span of three months, I am more determined about the act of bettering myself than I have ever been about anything else in my entire life up til this point. I'd like to think that I was quite successful. People who don't normally talk to me, talk to me quite regularly now. The compliments felt good and kept me going, it told me that I was doing something right. Working on taking care of myself felt great, it felt like my future was a little bit more secure. That's what I tell myself though, but it's not really true. It was never for me, no matter how much I tried to convince myself otherwise. I worked hard to win her over, the woman who inspired me to change. I did everything I can to get her to look my way; watched all the videos, read all the books, browsed all the web articles, listened to the experienced. And she did notice! In fact, she was one of my pillars of support. The one who told me what I was doing right, and doing wrong, the most. But sadly, it's so rare that a story actually gets a happy ending. I never changed her mind, not a single bit. I know this, because she recently confided in me that she was romantically interested in another man. I have never hated myself so much for disciplining myself in lessons of maturity. I listened to her sweet voice saying words that I hoped I never would have to hear come out of her mouth. Yearning, jealousy, desire.. for someone else. But I endured, and I was there for her, as a good friend should. As a good ..friend should. I learned that I can't change everything about myself. A simple truth, but the most frustrating. I can't change the fact that I fall too deeply, and linger for too long. I can't change that I purposely think incredibly negative things to put myself down, like walking on broken glass shards just to bleed more, because I believe that will somehow make me feel better. I can't change the fact that I almost hate her for not giving me a chance. But I know what you're thinking. She didn't ask me to change. I'm exuding classic self-destructive behavior. And I can't force anyone to like me. You are right. You are painfully right. And yet, despite knowing how right you are, despite how sound the logic is. My heart remains unconvinced and unmoved. I turned my life around for her. And it was for naught. I feel deeply lost. This track was like a shot of my favorite whiskey. A drink to humility. Bottoms up, my friends. Cheers

During my whole life, I've always feel like I was missing something. Like if I was apart and that to be peaceful I had to find that thing. The fact is that I always look something to earn, love, friends, knowledge. But at the end, I'd never really get all that things. I was just passing throught it, without really preciate it. So I kept looking for new experiences, again and again. Finally, I found that amazing girl. She was making me feel really alive, I sincerely enjoyed falling in love with her. And then, my stupid human ego told me that it was not enough, that I needed to be closer to her, to share thingd with her. So I started texting her, like if we knew since 4 years. Couple of months later, she's been really rude to me, trying to hurt me in the most efficient way. It broke my heart and for a long time I hated her, making my life horrible. Then, I changed my mindset, and I realized that I was wrong, that I was not talking to her, but to the image I'd made of her in my head. I realized that I was inlove with something that does not even existed. From this moment, I started to serach a way to repair what I'd done to her. At the end of the year, I found it, and I send her that long text, explaining that I was sorry and that I'd never wanted to hurt her. She accepted my apologies and we made peace. And now, I'm realizing that she is really cool and I think that I fell inlove with her, again... In my opinion it is like we are linked by fate or something like that but I don't dare to act anymore. I'm actually afraid to be blind and not to see that she obviously not made for me. I'm afraid to be hurt again. And I'm afraid to break a friendship for the second time. So the only thing I can do is writing a long comment telling my life to everybody (or nobody). I hope that will make me feel better. PS : You can answer if you don't hurt me, otherwise I'd preciate if you keep your anger down and continue your way.

Just in case anyone needs some healing I recommend watching Non Non Biyori, it gives you nostalgia of a past you most likely never had, sweet and calming.
