The cards must be in front of the camera at all times. This is the #1 rule for breakers and must always be followed no matter what or people have every right to accuse you of something,especially when the card goes off camera for over a minute

I can't believe anyone buys into breaks with all the weasels in this community.

Any breaker shook over pulling a Jaylen Waddle Downtown is someone who doesn't deserve your money.

I had the cowboys in a contenders break. The year Dak and Zeke were rookies and their cards were going nuts. Dak was a redemption that year. Well a redemption came up and the dude took it off camera and said "I wanna see what team this guy is on first". And when he put it back it was some scrub player. I called him out and I got blasted for calling him out. It was like I was the scammer. Rule #1.. never take a card off camera. They're not even your cards. U already sold them, ur just opening them for us.

Rule #1 of breaking = KEEP THE CARDS ON THE CAMERA. So damn simple.

The Jaylen Waddle Downtown is printed to the edge of the card with the underwater design. The underwater design is not present on the card in the pack which has the normal optic laser background

I think he wanted to do a swap, he had the intention of swapping if the player on the card was a monster like Brady, or Mahomes, or Lawrence, etc. So I think once they saw it wasnt a big name they brought the card back onscreen. He broke the #1 coveted rule of breaking. Never under any circumstances move boxes, packs, or cards off camera in the middle of a break. That alone would ruin a breakers reputation.

As we've seen from all previous breakers who have scammed and stolen over the years, there is 1 consistency amongst almost 100% of them. They all repeat themselves all the time. When they steal, they don't know what to say but to repeat whatever word last came out of their mouths multiple times. Sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat amongst other things he repeated.

The fact that he took the card off camera is wrong, but aside from that theres no logical reason to take it off that long unless you were fumbling around for a replacement

The way he grabbed the cards with his index finger, he knew what he was doing, a criminal breaker.

Wether he switched cards or not he's definitely lying about it being stuck. That card wasn't stuck to the card in front of it when he was going through the pack.

100% dont but breaks anymore due to lost trust in 90% of breakers. Any big card Ive pulled that isnt numbered 90% of them show up with a crazy defect or centering that was total shit. Big breakers are always swapping cards out for their own personal gain when it comes to grading.

the human psychology here is fascinating. if you read between the lines in the apology note at 4:11, the breaker justifies stealing the card because it was a new client, only “in his second break”. so the customer didn’t deserve the card anyway, because they had not spent enough money breaking with him yet. amazing how the mind of a thief can always justify the theft.

I don’t think he went into the break intending to make a swap but had a lapse in judgement, wasn’t ready to pull it off, fumbled a bit, gave up.

Stuff like this, and all the grading shenanigans are why I sold all my stuff last year and I haven't been happier. I still enjoy watching the vids and living vicariously through you.

This is exactly why most "big name" breakers use at least 2 cameras. Its a simple thing called transparency. I know it wouldn't catch everything, but a "bird's-eye" view would be helpful.

Taking the cards off camera for a couple of seconds would be bad enough but for that long is just inviting extremely well deserved criticism. I don't care what reasons are given after the fact from being nervous to I made a horrible yet honest mistake if there was nothing shady happening his own alarm bells in his head would be going off after a second or 2

I don't feel like it was the same card you don't see the background all the way to the edges like that. Definitely not the same card if you ask me. The cards should never leave the screen.

I personally think their was 2 downtowns and he kept one , I have seen a few times where there has been multiple in a hanger box by accident …I mean he knows good and well he needs to have the cards in the camera and anyone that don’t loses all credibility …hope no one breaks with him again

Ya dip bro. Yes it seems way to shady and you definitely can see him switching out a card. He was pressing a little hard so that the other back card wouldn't move. People stop paying people to steal your money and just open card's for yourself. Everyone has at least 3-5 different store's near them walmart, target, toy's are us, and Myers ect. We also have ebay, internet to access walmart, target and online stores to purchase a box 📦.

Any time a valuable card is pulled out of a pack I think the person who bought into the break or spot should receive full comp value in cash of the best variant of that card in the set. If it gets taken off camera we can only speculate that there was ill intent.

That breaker is def shady, cause you do NOT take the cards off the screen that long. There is no freaking excuse for that, every break knows this!!!

the reason why it's bad is because, yeah he took it off camera, but he also waited to announce what the card was until he brought it back (or found the replacement for it). If it was Waddle, he could/should have said that from the start. Only reason to stay silent that long is cuz he was searching for the replacement and didn't know what it was gonna be yet, imo.

I don't see any logical reason for that breaker to take the downtown off screen for so long....

This is an example of why everyone should not be in business. It takes more than reselling at more than you paid. Sole proprietor and small LLC needs to know business math and understand that small means you need to build trust, you don't have corporate money to buy it. When your break looks like a rigged carnival game you can't build trust. Breaking is going to change at some point to another corporate run monopoly. The bigger breakers aren't acting legit, more like funneling cards to family and friends on the dime of others. Now is not the time for sloppy presentations. It was strange not seeing or hearing packs opened

Soon as that card went off camera , all integrity of that breaker was lost. Don’t care if it was the same card or not as we will never know for certain. You can blame it on emotions or whatever but you can’t take the card off camera. If he was so worried about it being stuck , should of shown the back of the DT first so all there knew who it was beforehand.

I don’t know why this was recommended to me. But I can say it’s super odd he’s super announcing “I’ve never pulled this card! I’ve never pulled a waddle” All I heard was “this card couldn’t have been pulled from under my desk because I’ve never gotten one before!”

I’ve said it many times in my videos. How people continue to send money to these two-bit breakers is beyond me. Barrier to entry is so small. Half of them have terrible setups. Ugh...I'm a breaker and really want to do well and do right, but situations like this along with other shadiness just make things difficult. Please continue to show these videos and force the standard to be high.

It was %100 swapped. You can tell by zooming in on the border of the card when first revealed. Before for no reason he flips the cards upside down. The waddles has a blue wave and orange color going the full extension to the border. The sliver of the side you see on the reveal doesnt have the blue wave and orange extension to the edge.

It wasn't stuck to the previous card, takes it off camera for no reason, then keeps it off for a minute. Even bumped the camera reaching under the table. Thief. What does it matter. Every proven thief still gets people to buy into breaks. People are idiots and get what they deserve.

shaking my head. I can't even stand when breakers peak what the card is before we see it. Like those that are able to do so that we all see at the same time. I don't mind the slow roll but of course do so with cards on camera.

As far as I could see, the card was not stuck to the one in front of it in any way. If it was, we never would have seen the edge of it as he slid the top card over a bit.

He was about to steal what he was hoping would be a big player. It turned out to be Waddle so he didn't pull off the scam but was thinking about it, hence the extreme nervousness.

You can tell its a different downtown, there is a hint of a straight line or edge of a sign near his finger, so if the card was flipped it would have part of a billboard on the upper right

With all the scams going on I don't believe he was honest. People nowadays need to understand the hobby is not like it use to be in the past. Kids want to get the biggest card by all means. This is just another scammer that needs to go.

I collected as a little kid in the 80s…all the LCS opened packs and resealed them. Killed my love for the hobby and they all went out of business. Then these breakers 😂. I order all of my cards through the Topps site and fanatics (only collect Topps). None of these greasy neckbeards are getting in between me and my cards. The only thing I use them for are PSA submissions and I do my own inspections. I’ll buy a few loose packs when I’m there to patronize them for the service but that’s it. They could all disappear tomorrow, card shops and breakers, and the hobby would be better for it.

He, casually, pins the downtown to the back of the card infront of it (like a magician), pulls both cards off-screen, acts like it's the biggest card in the world, and casually puts Jaylen out there...BIG TIME SCAM!!! Never buy from him! Put him back into a local warehouse loading trucks! 2024!

The border on the first card is complete all the way down. The Waddle art goes all the way to the edge so they can't be the same card.

If you look at his personal collection in the back ground, he has many downtown inserts. My guess, He swapped with an extra one he had.

I don’t believe he swapped it. Look at the card closely when he first reveals the side. It’s upside down and the right side of the card imaging matches what we see on the Waddle card.

It's a different card lol. We see the side of the card before he shows the waddle and we can see straight optic pattern sides. The waddle has coral basically all the way to the end of the side. If it was the same card, we would have seen the coral art on the side since it goes out further then what we were shown.

Sorry if I'm repeating this but I just saw the video. The card was clearly switched out. Look at time 1:30 then 3:05. The 1/4 inch exposed at 1:30 is clearly different than the edges on the Jaylen Waddle card....

Look i do breaks. And the etiquette is simple. All cards, all packs and all boxes. Stay in view of the camera at all times. Period end of story. The second it goes off screen, it leaves the opportunity for dishonesty. Pretty simple even if it seems crowded all that stuff on camera. I never wanna be in a position like this. I understand people arent perfect. But if this were my break, he would be done breaking with me

At most I think people should take that in to consideration. if your going to be in a break with him and he takes cards off camera you should be refunded for that position unless your ok with what you got. This way he's more aware of what he's doing as well as your protecting against what could be a scam

Taking cards off screen is obviously a big No NO in the breaking biz, however I will say that after comparing all the Downtown cards, the only card that matches the edge shown at the 1:40 mark is the Jaylen Waddle. Focus on the Coral and the ground for comparison (the card is upside down for reference).

#1 rule, don’t pull the cards off camera. For buyers, only break through established sellers.

You can see it’s a different card because if you look at the original, you can see a part of a football on the left side, and the waddle doesn’t have that.

Very obvious that he was rambling on "stalling" to buy time. Odd behavior if he wasn't trying to swap a card.. but that is exactly what he was doing!!!

This hobby has had people like this in it for decades. I remember back in 1989 when the owner of a local sports card shop, sold me a few packs of Upper Deck football and I pulled two inserts that were obviously new and hadn't yet been listed in Beckett. He literally offered me(immediately) $5 for each insert. I refused, the cards came out in Beckett a few weeks later at $50.00. Now, I was new to the hobby back then, but still, the nerve of that guy to believe that I was desperate for money, so he decided to low-ball me and offer m $5 for each card, "knowing" their worth! I eventually entered the U.S. Navy and wherever I was stationed, the first thing I did was look for a local shop. After that guy, I literally started to test shop owners, by trying to sell cards, I knew already knew what they were worth, just to test them and see if they are honest. I despise people like that! Just be honest and straight up with people.

Yeah....love scammers, I mean..."breakers"...they'll take YOUR money ALL DAY but when they DO finally find a decent card, they won't share it. I wouldn't participate in a break if my SOUL depended on it.

This is not complicated in the slightest. Any breaker who takes cards out of sight of the camera before they are revealed should be presumed to be shady.

Comparing the side of the dipped card to the waddle it’s not the same card. 100% swapped it.
