A team that doesn't have a lot of docs about is the 07 Hawaii team. I know the 07 season was insane but their definitely worth noting

2004 or 2008 Utah both went 13-0, and the 2008 team finished 2nd in the polls and were declared national champions by 4 out of 6 BCS computer models.

@@Wrlixer Beat 2 ranked teams, had a great defense but not best in the nation, mediocre offense, had an average MOV. Great team - not top 10. 96 BYU is the lowest on here - played 4 Top 20 teams, beat 3 of them, ranked #4 in offense, #10 in defense. They actually allowed 0.4 less ppg than UC, beat teams by a average margin of 2.1 more than UC and played 15 games. People dont appreciate how high the bar of the GOAT list for G5 really is.

You make good content man. Much better than most of the people your age do, in my opinion at least. You should look into some of the group of 5 schools in the 80s and 90s. There weren't as many who were good, the gap was bigger then. But teams like BYU especially in the 80s, LA Tech in the 90s, Tulane with Shaun King and Rich Rod, there are a few worth mentioning. Keep it up, got my subscription. Thought I already was subbed but I am for sure now. We need as many good college football creators as we can get.

Ye, ucf shoulda got a playoff spot. Didnt have the toughest schedule they could've, and their defense didn't look good the last couple games before Auburn, so I understand why they didn't still.. To me, you gotta show a lot of toughness and heart to power through and come out on top in the close ones tho, and they definitely did. Defense showed up against Auburn big, too. They probably woulda lost in the semi-final 😅, but who knows. College football is magical enough to have you believe they could go all the way (despite group of 5 schools never getting a chance to win it all)

Actually 2010 Boise State never had a chance because of the fact that TCU and Oregon jump them so even if they went undefeated they still would not have made the championship game

TCU didnt jump til they lost. It never made sense that Oregon jumped them. Now I think the BCS would still keep Oregon over BSU, but if this came to pass the league would have gone absolutely berserk. There would be zero possible explanation for how Oregon should be ranked above them. Boise State would have an active season win streak of 37 consecutive games that literally included two dominating wins over Oregon, plus statistically they were the best team in the league. The only possible argument you could make is Oregon beat a top 10 Stanford by 21 at home, but this argument would immediately run into problems for Oregon (as it always should've) because TCU beat a top 10 Utah by 40 on the road. Boise State had wins over both of these teams in the last year. Its also important to note that at this time outside of the season the G5 was involved in extremely heavy lawsuits against the NCAA and BCS. Not just like FSU suing the league - no, there was a 12 school class action lawsuit against the league, and the G5 schools got their state governments and US Senators to file criminal charges against the NCAA and BCS. The argument was there clear manipulation and bias against G5 schools to prevent them from playing in major championships/bowls that carried greater monetary value in an effort to restrict funds to the G5 in favor of the P5. A 3 time undefeated boise state with wins over a P5 team making a championship over them is a perfect illustration of the very argument that the G5 was making against the league.

2004 Utah and 2010 TCU were the best non Group of 5 teams of in the 21st century. The Mountain West in the 2010 season was on the same level or slightly better than the ACC and Big East and TCU demolished their competition in the regular season. They beat an elite Wisconsin team in the Rose Bowl and were at #2 in the final AP and Coaches rankings.

You have to put 2010 Boise State in there even though they lost, because their stats are so insane. First 8 weeks BSU beat 3 top 25 teams and outscored opponents 396-98. At that pace they ranked #1 offense, #2 defense with a 40 point MOV and ranked #2 in the nation. 2010 TCU was crazy snubbed for a title, but they were handicapped the entire season because BSU was putting up crazy numbers and had to be ranked behind them. For 2010 its not even close the Big East was far lower and the ACC was below the WAC, and the WAC was slightly below the MWC.

Missed so many better seasons. BYU won it all as a mid major in 1984 technically. Air Force finished ranked in the top 5 in 85 and beat Texas in a bowl game to finish 12-1, and also had some close calls in the 90s & 2000s. TCU wasn’t always the big 12 when they were putting up rose bowl appearances with the red rifle Andy Dalton. Hawaii made it to the Sugar Bowl after a great season in 07 with the late great Colt Brennan. Imo UCF didn’t deserve to make the playoffs in 2017. They had a weak schedule & got lucky a lot. Prime example was their final regular season game against South Florida If not for a couple lucky breaks and the refs they should have lost. Also, not the brightest idea to admit to a felony offense on a video anyone can find, even if it was a joke 😂🤦‍♂️. That said the video you put together is well done, just remember college football existed way before its current format and plenty of under dogs rose up prior to the bcs and playoffs.

You cant think of any other teams in the top 5? How about the same exact season in 2010 - MWC Champion #3 TCU? 2010 TCU and Boise State are also statistcally the best two G5 teams to have ever played the game - ranked #1 and #4 offense, #1 and #2 in defense and #1 and #2 in MOV. Together they beat 7 top 25 teams including both the ACC Champion and B10 Champion in the same season. 2010 TCU beat #6 Utah on the road 47-7.......
