Guys I'm not on Twitter so I can't gage the amount of hate Ian Wright got for that suggestion.. but either way for me it was a horrible take cause if you think Saka can go LB under Southgate in the round of 16, when he hasn't played there in 4 years. He didn't play LB at youth level. Only under Unai Emery. Under a top manager I would get the suggestion.. or letting him go LW, hell, I would have preferred he said bench him for the next game (which for me would be a completely fair suggestion given his form and that of others in the team in his position). Footballs dead because talent isn’t being cultivated anymore. Young players get paid too much too soon, young players have a lot more distractions now, they’re spending too much time on improving fitness and strength rather improving technique. If you compare striker now and strikers then, strikers then could actually strike a ball; van persie, Rooney, aguero, drogba, ibra, Defoe, Torres, list goes on. Now you have strikers that are strong fast, can link up but can’t shoot for shit (the one thing you should have mastered as a striker).
